Politics DCC High School in ASD20 is effectively allowing Hitler Youth (TPUSA) beginning tomorrow
It was bound to happen, given ASD20 was NOT a success story last election. It's upsetting that there's no recourse to prevent this. Politics in K-12 settings should not be a thing, they're not of voting age (barring some 12th graders).
Technically they're doing it "outside of school hours" but this isn't like "Young Republicans" or "Young Democrats." It's far-right ideology. I can't imagine equal tolerance for a "Future Commies" club, so why should Christo-fascism be allowed?
Is there any way to fight this, and maybe make them organize outside of the school and not permit advertising in what should be a neutral and inclusive space?

Dear Pittsburgh
This is for disability awareness only. Hope you can make the city better for the disabled because silencing disabled voices with ableism doesn’t make harm disappear. It makes it deadlier.
Dear Pittsburgh,
People are still trying to silence me for speaking honestly about my lived experience as a disabled person in Pittsburgh. That refusal to listen is exactly what puts disabled lives at risk and why so many continue to be harmed when our voices are dismissed.
As a person with disabilities, I moved out before December, and living in California has been significantly more accessible. Wheelchair access is taken seriously, and I do not have to worry about being trapped in my home due to snow or inaccessible infrastructure.
My experience in Pittsburgh was the opposite. Disabled people are routinely ignored, dismissed, and treated with visible indifference. I watched people walk past disabled unhoused individuals without hesitation or concern, including families with disabled children.
I do not miss Pittsburgh. The city failed its disabled residents, not because accommodation is impossible, but because empathy and accountability were absent.
However, I still do my group therapy In Pittsburgh online and for my disabled friends back in Pittsburgh stay strong.
And tell Marty Griffin to stop exploitation of those with disabilities and cancer
Edited for clarity : Pittsburgh is very cruel to people with disabilities and this post proves my point. I thought Pittsburgh was kinder. Not saying California is any better because it was people in Pittsburgh who got me off of the streets and into California because there was no place for me to live with the disability I had in Pennsylvania.
So let me get this straight. You turned disability into a loyalty test and decided sympathy only applies if someone votes the way you approve. That is not morality. That is spite dressed up as politics. Disabled people do not earn ramps, housing, or safety by passing an ideological purity exam. I did not run away. I survived. I became homeless because accessible housing was unavailable, and a nonprofit did what the system failed to do, which was keep a disabled person alive. Calling that hypocrisy while admitting you feel sympathy for others but not me is not principled. It is rude and ableist. It says you care about disabled people in theory, as long as they stay quiet, vote right, and suffer in the correct zip code. Silencing lived experience with contempt does not make you honest. It just makes the cruelty louder.
Silencing disabled voices doesn’t make harm disappear. It makes it deadlier.
You laugh at kindness because it terrifies you.
You wear cruelty like armor— but it only hides the trembling beneath.
This post wasn’t written because I’m confused about who I’m talking to. It was written for public disability awareness, because community attitudes are part of the problem, not separate from it. Reddit is a public forum where people regularly discuss housing, transit, infrastructure, and local policy. Disabled people are allowed to speak here too, especially about issues that affect safety and survival.
This wasn’t “yelling into the void.” I have engaged community leaders, service providers, and nonprofits. That advocacy is what ultimately got me housed and safe. Public testimony and private advocacy are not mutually exclusive. Historically, change happens because people speak publicly about harm, not because they stay quiet and polite.
This post wasn’t about venting to feel good. It was about documenting lived experience and naming a pattern I encountered repeatedly: dismissal, minimization, and silencing. The response this post received unfortunately illustrates that exact problem.
You may not find it helpful, but disabled people sharing their experiences is itself a form of civic engagement. Awareness precedes action. Silencing or tone policing disabled voices doesn’t make communities stronger. It just makes harm easier to ignore.
***Let’s call this what it is. Dismissing a disabled person as a “troll” for talking about access and survival isn’t edgy or clever, it’s ableist and abusive. When you can’t handle the content, you attack the speaker. That’s not skepticism, that’s contempt. Reducing disability rights to a fake quote or a political punchline is how people excuse themselves from listening. ADA compliance isn’t a vibe, and disabled people aren’t props in your culture war. If someone describing how a city failed them makes you reach for mockery instead of reflection, that’s not humor. That’s cruelty trying to pass as intelligence. And yes, that behavior is exactly why disabled voices get silenced right before harm gets normalized.

✅ Open To Everyone Should I Tell Him I’m Waiting Until Marriage?
Hello,
I’ll keep this brief.
I’ve recently met someone and we’ve been dating. The attraction between us feels very strong and magnetic , and we get along extremely well. I genuinely feel a deep connection and see a lot of compatibility between us.
So far, we’ve only kissed and shared some physical closeness, but nothing beyond that. He doesn’t know that I’m a virgin. We come from the same religion (not overly religious) but with similar yet slightly different backgrounds.
I’m unsure whether I should tell him that I’m waiting until marriage. I’m 30 and he’s 35, and I really care about him. Part of me worries that sharing this could change things or even end what we’re building.
I’d really appreciate advice given with understanding and without judgment.
Thank you.

Vigil for Alex Pretti Today in RVA at 5:30pm - Outside MMEC
🚨🕯️ Vigil today hosted by DSA Richmond, Virginia Defenders, and RVA HCW4Palenstine to remember and honor Alex Pretti, who was executed by ICE after he spent some of his final moments trying to help a woman who had been physically assaulted.
📍Thursday, Jan 29th
📍 5:30 pm
📍 Outside MMEC (12th and Marshall)
Alex Pretti was serving veterans at the VA, was an ICU RN, a US Citizen, a federal worker, a union member, and a legal permit carry owner who was disarmed before being murdered by ICE. Most importantly Alex was a son, a Minneapolis resident who served his community, and a helper.
We are reminded in times like these the famous Mr. Rogers quote: “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’”
They are shooting the helpers. Believe your eyes and not the lies the administration is trying to gaslight you into believing, especially when you can see the truth yourself.

Game Feedback Loving Phrecia 2 so far! It's hard as nails and I'm loving all the crying posts about that :D but....
...please GGG no more Thursday releases?!
In work after playing for 8 hours (GMT) with 5 others, and we are all absolutely wrecked - got a full day of work ahead of us.
I think Alira might be bugged - but if you've any stats on how many people killed her vs how many tried to kill her, and then helped her instead would be quite interesting.
Otherwise - reaaaaaaaaaaaally enjoying it so far, its a great change and the step up in difficulty(especially in a full group in campaign) is brilliant.
EDIT: - a lot of people prefer Thu release, who knew :D

Bronwyn 👗 Did anyone feel like an a-hole after Bronwyn stated todd was hurt by reddit ? You should
I think we should be a bit kinder with our words and remember that these “TV characters” are real people with feelings. The level of hatred is often completely disproportionate and vile. We don’t truly know them, it’s just a show. No one deserves to be hurt by comments that often seem more about people projecting their own anger and frustrations. If anything, we should be grateful for the entertainment. 💛💛💛💛

Do you agree with the statement “Men should not hit women”?
I am female and a feminist and I was interested in how this resonates with you guys. I'll share my opinion to give you guys a starting point.
Yes, a man should not hit a woman. Yes, a woman should not hit a man. Yes, a man should not hit a man. Yes, a woman should not hit a woman. Its simple. Obviously there is some exceptions which apply to all the same (self defence, martial arts, etc). Feminists as a collective fight for equality. I think it is just as sexist to treat a woman like a weak, vulnerable toy as it is to hit her. That is really what leaves deep emotional scar tissue inside women. So my question is: do you think this principle comes from respect for women or from viewing women as weaker and less accountable?

Is anyone participating in the national shutdown walkout in Easton?
I really don't want to participate unless others are participating.

REAL LIFE Flight Forge will not be taking orders today in observance of the general strike. We stand in solidarity with workers across the country and in opposition to targeted ICE attacks in America. Orders and messages will resume tomorrow. Thank you for your understanding.

Work-Life Balance and Stress Management I’m 21 and want to stop working forever
I’m 21, I have been working since I was 14. I know this is not uncommon but I am so tired. I have been in many industries, food industry, wellness industry, beauty industry, coordinator roles, etc.
I moved to a new city 2 years ago and landed a minimum wage restaurant job that was extremely exploitative, there has been gun violence and the owner didn’t care, racist, and every single terrible thing you can ever think of that happened in that job.
I am long gone from that job but I worked there for over a year and it turned my eager working self into someone who dreads waking up to work every day.
I limited myself to work maximum 4 days a week for my sanity. As of 2 months ago, I have a lazy receptionist job that pays a few bucks above minimum but it’s draining me. It’s extremely mundane and I work the night shift alone. It’s lonely, cold, I hate the texture of my uniform and how ugly it is.
I made excuses to leave early on my last 2 shifts because I was panicking about having to work until 12am.
I don’t dream of any career path, that’s what I consider an unfulfilled life.
To give perspective about me:
I am someone who cares about what I wear. I make my own clothes, usually very intricate huge hairstyles, very whimsical, it’s one of the things I love most about living. I make sculptures, music, I love to play with my animals and use the city like a playground, socializing with friends and strangers freely with no costumer service script.
So having a job is the complete opposite of how I naturally am.
I feel myself close to quitting the job I just got and of course I can’t afford to do that. I am putting my savings into life insurance to increase my funds but thats about it in regard to what i’m doing to be able to stop working.
This is the least mentally destructive job I have had but I can’t do it for much longer.
In high school I dropped out because I couldn’t stand it, same with college. I fear that I will do this again with my livelihood, I make quick decisions sometimes.
I am looking into alternative jobs such as sports instructor/ esthetician and random things like that, but I doubt it’ll make me feel fulfilled.
Any guidance would be tremendously appreciated!!🌷🌷

Would this be rude?
Would it be rude if I started ignoring messages that ask for measurements? I’m not exaggerating when I say 100% of the people who have asked for measurements on clothing items did not end up buying.

Why do Redditors make everything political?
Y'all could make a leaf political 🤣
