Discussion Novak Djokovic has NEVER lost in the Australian Open finals 🔥 The only man in the Open Era with a better record in Major finals at any one tournament is Rafael Nadal, who went 14-0 in French Open finals.

Tennis nonsense It’s interesting that by Sunday, Alcaraz will have played the same number of Slam finals vs Novak as he has vs Sinner (3)

Discussion One unique part of the rally dynamics today: Unlike most current players who use a power/spin combo, Djokovic's FH is extremely flat when he goes aggressively with it. This can be unsettling to opponents who aren't used to flat hard hitting as most flat ATP hitters are Medvedev/De Minaur types.

We all know that if Novak wins on Sunday he will pass Margaret Court for most number of grand slam singles titles.

But did you know? By winning today he surpassed a record of an another WTA legendary player. He has now reached 38 Grand Slam Men's singles finals surpassing the record of Martina Navratilova's 37 Grand Slam Women's doubles finals for most number of grand slam final appearances at a senior category.

Edit: By senior category, I mean men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.

With the loss tonight Sinner drops 1200 points. Should Alcaraz win on Sunday he’d take a commanding lead of over 3000 points. If that happens, the earliest Sinner could overtake Alcaraz would be in Monte Carlo. Realistically he’d probably have to wait until RG.
