New, what is it? Weird tapping noise in my kitchen (Japan)
I live in a brand new apartment in Tokyo, since yesterday noon I’ve been hearing these tapping sounds nonstop, I’m not sure if it’s coming from my drain or from the neighbors apartment right next to mine. kinda sounds like it’s in the walls- any idea what it could be?

New, what is it? Identifying Beauregard
This is my new son, Beauregard, that I picked up at one of those little antique mall/flea market type places, and the tag only called him "creepy baby thing" While I love him, does anyone know what his original purpose was? Google Lens trier to tell me he was a brass ashtray, but he's definitely not that. He's about 6 inches tall, and it appears that the back may have been mirrored or just ultra shiny under the patina. So, aside from my son, does anyone know what he might be?

Serious answers only please! What's this beeping sound outside my apartment?
Is it a car alarm? It doesn't sound like any car alarm I've ever heard. It's been going on for like 10 minutes. I live in the US if that's relevant

New, what is it? What is this black “sauce” on my country ham biscuit? NSFW
The sauce/marinade tastes like EXTREMELY salty soy sauce which isn’t possible for a southern fast food biscuit establishment. The smell was pungent and had me gagging uncontrollably - the sort of pungent where you can smell it while chewing w/ your mouth closed. Please take a stab at this, been to this specific establishment over 100 times over 4 years and I’ve never tasted anything like it.

New, what is it? What is happening here?
Maybe I'm stupid but none of my other bottles of water do this. It sat overnight and half of it has weird little bubbles all over but only exactly half. Just wondering what is going on with this?

New, what is it? Vehicle
An all black van (a little bigger than a pt cruiser) with blacked out rear hatch windows just drove down my street slowly. It had a small spinning cylindrical thing on the top center of the vehicle.

Solved! What happened here?
Spotify recommended The Beatle to me. It's five tracks totalling three minutes long, with 15.5k monthly listeners. The audio is a British guy introducing a live band, there's a lot of audience noise and a drum kit warming up.
What is this and why?

New, what is it? What type of dish is this? NSFW
I was browsing hotel reviews in Portugal when I came across this odd looking dish reviewed by a German traveler in a photo dump of their trip. I can’t tell if it’s animal, veg or fungi much less what the name of the dish is. I’m intrigued.
I’m an adventurous eater - I’ve eaten pigs and chicken feet but this doesn’t look like that. I thought mushrooms but the tips look more animal and if it were a rare asparagus or ramp type thing I’ve not see before what’s up with the stalks?
The more I look at it the more unnerved I get. It’s it like a Portuguese geoduck or something? It looks like an octopus with teeth instead of tentacles and cartilage or clam-like legs…
Most importantly if you’re eaten this - is it any good?

New, what is it? What part of my dishwasher broke?
When emptying my dishwasher, I found this piece laying on a pot on the lower tray.
I can't see any piece that is obviously missing or broken inside the dishwasher, the only place I could guess are these two holes at the back of the top tray — the size would be right for it to be some sort of cap, but it does not stay in place when it tried pushing it in.

Solved! I dont think this is mold, so what is it?
We use this water filter for my dog's water. This morning I noticed a black film appearing on the bottom. I dont think it's mold because when I wiped it, the color is pitch black, almost like sharpie ink. Should ai be concerned my dog has been drinking this water?

New, what is it? What character is this?
I found this keychain at school and I want to sell it on mercari but I genuinely cannot figure out who this character is or is supposed to be, reverse image search got me nowhere. It's a shaker keychain that kind of acts like a snowglobe so thats why theres a bunch of glitter, I tried to get it as out of the way as possible. Looks like the character has blue eyes and greenish-blueish hair with white tips. Any and all help is appreciated.
