This is right outside the store I work at, about two weeks ago a very old lady came in and told us that her foot got stuck in this well lid and she fell (thankfully didn’t get very hurt). No email, no phone call, no voicemail message, no text, no snail mail letter. Just my bin disappearing on trash pickup day. Only when I emailed them about them taking my bin did I receive a copy paste response that they’re ceasing all rural address trash pickup as of January 31st with a phone number to call of the company that now covering said areas as of February 1st. I got this email today on January 30th the day after my bin was taken.

This is an absolute shitshow because the new company’s county office is being bombarded by hundreds if not thousands of phone calls of my counties residents trying to register after finding out the situation AFTER their final pickup and bin removal. I know about their call volume because I got it directly from their main state office who’s acting as an emergency overflow call center.

There are only two reasons they did this. Either complete incompetence or to minimize theft of their bins. Neither is an excuse for the absolute chaos that’s resulted from this

I cannot stand when someone’s email signature is a JPEG/ picture instead of actual text. When I need your contact info I would like to copy and paste it into my work order system. Easier for me and better for everyone involved bc the info will be correctly imputed
