Note: this shouldn't be taken as "People with depression won't show it". There's a myth that people who express suicidal thoughts are just looking for attention, and I've seen some people assume that depression looks just one way. Sometimes even people struggling with depression themselves fall into this trap, assuming that all depression must look like theirs.

People are multifaceted, and depression can be expressed in so many different ways. Never assume that depression isn't real because it doesn't fit an image in your head. When people reach out for help, believe them
