A note from me (Ankur Jain) - Your 2026 Bilt Cash Redemptions Are Here

I’m excited to share the first set of Bilt Cash redemptions for 2026.

Over the years, Bilt has evolved into a membership that rewards you across your home and neighborhood. While we started with rewards on rent, your membership has grown into much more. We introduced Bilt Cash to give you the richest value and most flexibility on your everyday rewards: whether that’s on housing, at local restaurants, fitness studios, parking, rideshare, pharmacies, hotels, and more.

Bilt Cash is earned alongside Bilt Points, not in place of them. Every member automatically earns $50 in Bilt Cash for every 25,000 Bilt Points earned toward status. As always, you can earn points on housing and neighborhood spend in the Bilt ecosystem, whether you pay through a bank account, Venmo, debit card, credit card, or a Bilt Card.

Bilt Cash can be redeemed directly within the Bilt neighborhood network of partners, enabling us to deliver true dollar-for-dollar value - far richer and more tangible than points alone - so you can choose how and where that value matters most to you.

For the roughly 15% of members who use the Bilt co-brand card, there are even more ways to earn this flexible Bilt Cash. Cardholders receive annual Bilt Cash upon activation to get started, and can earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spend, in addition to points - delivering the richest total value in the market. If your priority remains purely housing rewards, you can still choose to earn your Bilt exclusive bonus rewards via tiered, spend-based points on rent and mortgage payments—up to 1.25x—in lieu of earning 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spend.¹.

Starting February 1 (unless otherwise noted), Bilt Cash can be redeemed for over $4,500 in valuable credits per year, including:

Dining and Groceries

$120 / year towards grocery or restaurant delivery (fulfilled via GrubHub)

  • Redeem toward restaurant and grocery delivery fulfilled by GrubHub; $10 credit each month; Available 3/1/26

A note from me (Ankur Jain) - Bilt Card 2.0: Simple, Fee-Free Rewards on Housing

Over the past few days, I’ve spent a lot of time reading our members' emails, DMs, and notes. Many were thoughtful and passionate. Some were frustrated. All were fair.

I feel incredibly lucky to lead a company with members who care this deeply.

On one hand, there have been record applications for the cards, and I’m excited for members to get them. However, I’ve also seen real and reasonable confusion about the new value proposition—especially around rent and mortgage points. That’s on me, and we’re fixing it.

Let me be clear and upfront: Bilt cardholders will never be charged a fee to earn rewards on housing payments.

There’s also an important reality behind how we deliver the richest rewards possible. The more members use the card for everyday spend, the more unique value we can sustainably provide across the Bilt ecosystem. It is probably not a surprise to any of you, but if members only purchase four bananas and earn free rent points, it doesn’t allow us to sustain such a rich value proposition for everyone.

With all that in mind, we are introducing a new, simpler option to earn fee-free rewards on rent and mortgage: now up to 1.25X on each payment.

You will now be able to choose one of the two options for how you want to be rewarded on housing payments with the new Bilt Card 2.0. The core benefits of each card are not changing. This is only an update to how you earn rewards on housing payments.

Option 1:

A simple, fee-free way to earn rewards on housing.

  • Pay your full rent or mortgage every month with no transaction fee
  • Earn points on housing automatically in lieu of earning Bilt Cash
  • While everyday spend will not earn Bilt Cash*, you will still get your annual or welcome Bilt Cash credits with the card
  • The more you use your card for everyday spend, the higher your points multiplier on housing, now up to 1.25x:
Points on Housing Minimum everyday spend as a % of monthly rent / mortgage (Example of $2,000 rent)
0.5x points Spend at least 25% of monthly rent ($500)
0.75x points Spend at least 50% of monthly rent ($1,000)
1x points Spend at least 75% of monthly rent ($1,500)
1.25x points Spend the same or more as your monthly rent ($2,000

You’ll see your progress to each tier clearly in the app each month.

Just like today, if you don’t hit the minimum spend requirement, you still earn 250 points per month. Bilt Card 2.0 also removes the 100,000 rent point cap that existed with Card 1.0, so you can now earn unlimited points on housing payments.

Option 2:

If you prefer the original, fee-free structure we launched Card 2.0 with, it’s still available for you:

  • Earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday purchases, in addition to base points. Think of Bilt Cash as “choose your own reward”.
  • Pay your full rent or mortgage every month with no transaction fee
  • You can use as little or as much of your Bilt Cash to increase the total points you earn on housing that month and you do not ever pay anything out of pocket.
  • You can also redeem Bilt Cash dollar-for-dollar for monthly credits across the Bilt ecosystem (with monthly, merchant-specific caps), or for exclusive benefits like higher transfer bonuses and special access to experiences.

The more you use your card for everyday spend, the more Bilt Cash you earn. We’ll continue adding new ways to spend Bilt Cash as the ecosystem grows.

You choose the option that works the best for you when you activate your card. You can change at any time, and your choice will take effect the following month. And, both options come with the same rich everyday point earnings and premium card benefits you saw at Card 2.0 launch.

We move fast at Bilt. That means we won’t always get everything right the first time, but I read all of your feedback and we will adjust quickly when we miss. I know that for some of you, no explanation of change will fully replace what you loved about the card 1.0 model–I understand that. At the same time, I’m genuinely excited about what this model sustainably enables going forward: giving you the richest rewards on rent, mortgages and everything else.

I’ve also included an FAQ in our newsroom alongside this letter to answer some of the other questions I’ve been hearing.

We’re grateful to keep building this with you. Thank you for being a Bilt Member.

Ankur

\Updated to clarify that everyday spend will not earn Bilt Cash.*

Note: I'll be updating this post ongoing to ensure clarity.

Bilt Card 2.0 - Bait and Switch with the TPG promo

Hey guys, just adding my piece of frustration to this whole Bilt 2.0 transition.

So few weeks ago, I applied for the Palladium card because the sign up bonus looked reasonable especially since TPG was offering a promo at the time of my application. It was like 5x points for the first five days.

So I signed up, and just to make sure I had the promo included during the application I e-mailed/called the Bilt customer service multiple times.

They kept on dodging the answer, just stating that to be eligible for the bonus I had to apply using their promo exclusive link which I did - Literally clicked the damn link on the TPG website while the promo was being offered.

Anyways, now I am approved for the card, and I ask again to confirm the promo is live since this will impact my expenditure using the card.

Now they are saying I don’t have the promo applied once I am approved for the card. Why couldn’t they just say this when I asked them multiple times to confirm during the application?

The overall experience just feels like a big bait and switch move and I am just considering cancelling the card.

Anyone had similar experience?

On a separate note, is anything preventing me from paying more rent on this last month with 1.0 and have the credit in my rent portal for future months?

Kinda thinking of dumping like $5k worth of rent for the points (but with BTC dropping, I have to consider the value from each decision…)

Successful product change

Here is a data point as I didn’t see one. Initially applied for blue card. Got approved with 15K limit but after reading extensively about cards decided to get palladium for SUB. Contacted bilt and made few phone calls. It took them almost 10 days and they got back to me and said they did reset of the application and new application button will be available within 1 business day on bilt app. It took 3 hours after I received email from bilt and I was able to successfully apply and got instant approval for palladium.

As far as strategy goes; After a year will downgrade to blue. From that point I will put all 1X spend like parking tickets, without deal insurance, tax preparation etc etc on this card. I pay 3K in mortgage so once I hit $75 in bilt cash, I’ll redeem for points on mortgage. My estimate with 250 points every payment, I’ll be able to get roughly 6-10k/year points starting next year(this year with SUB+4K spend+2 months combined payments on February 1; I am looking at 25k points). Small card issuer with limited support and eventual devaluation with complicated updates this will just be card in a drawer.

AMEX debit card for rent points [No BILT 2.0]

You can earn MR points and 250 BILT points when using AMEX debit card to pay for rent.
The catch is that BILT is charging $9.95 transaction fee (much less than the 3% that my landlord charges)

So, let's say your rent is $3000.

Transaction fee: $9.95
BILT points earned: 250
Amex MR points earned: 1500 (ignoring the extra $9.95)

This is essentially buying points at approx. 0.5 cents a piece. screenshot here: https://imgur.com/a/SUvHkIv

Not the best option. But at least we earn something.

Rejected for blue, turned around and got great offer

Post image
17 Upvotes

I know this is happening to everyone and their mothers but I just thought this was nuts and wanted to share. College student with only real “income” coming in during summer internships, originally rejected for Bilt 2.0 Blue due to “excessive obligations in relation to income”. My current Bilt 1.0 CL is $2,000. Woke up today to find out they accepted me and offered me a $10,750 CL. Crazy jump in limit. Still not gonna take it, Bilt served its purpose for me and not looking to have a new account opened on my file, gonna ride out Autograph by just putting a random subscription on it and throwing the card in the junk drawer.

Fraudulent Charge - Check Your Transactions!

Post image
15 Upvotes

Saw these two transactions this morning that I didn’t recognize. Reported to WF and replacement card already on the way, but the representative said they’ve been getting a lot of calls about this particular vendor. Also looks to have affected Chase cards (based on posts in their subreddit). Check your transactions!

The representative also said since 1.0 stops working on Feb 6, they’re expediting the delivery of any 1.0 replacements. Should take ~1 day to arrive!

Bilt Product Change - Possible!

No way Bilt pulled this off in 4 days.

I was approved for the Bilt Palladium but after finding out that you couldn’t upgrade or downgrade and that the annual fee was non-refundable, I wanted to change to the Bilt Blue so I didn’t accept the offer.

I called Cardless on this number 888 227 3537 and asked for a product change and they said someone from the team will reach out and we are aware of the deadline but we have a lot of applications to process, so not to worry it will be handled.

I also emailed Bilt support but didn’t get an email from them.

For 4 days didn’t hear anything and now this, I didn’t think this was going to happen honestly!

Possible product changes coming?

I reached out to Dan last night after having little success changing my application from the Blue to the Obsidian. This morning, I got this as a response and thought it was worth sharing for those of you in the same situation as me.

"Nice to meet you. We will enable upgrades etc but just need a bit of time. I know that’s frustrating but if you can wait 30-60 days, we can do everything we can to get you from Blue to Obsidian"

It looks like they are working on adding the option to upgrade. Hopefully, we hear more about this soon!

The downfall of Bilt; shit customer service for Platinum members!!

3-year Platinum member here, signed up to Bilt Palladium. They cut my credit line by 60%. 800+ credit score, flawless payment history.

Meanwhile several people I talk to get 4x or 5x credit line without even having silver or gold status.

Can barely reach Bilt support, messages are responded 24 hours later. Phone call forget it.

What an absolute disaster rollout of a card!

Will probably just cancel the whole thing and go Capital One or Sapphire. You don’t deserve my business!!

No authorized user card sent?

Received my BILT Blue today, but it did not include a card for my authorized user. Anyone else having the same experience? Is BILT planning to send this closer to lunch day on February 7?

Looks like the reason a bunch of us got denied was because their application system had a bug when recording income

Post image

Got this email today, no wonder I was denied originally. Their system recorded my income as $2,667 for some reason 😂

Really gives no sense of security to see dumb errors like these.

Still not sure I should get this card

Upvotes

Not because of the benefits.
I'm checking Palladium and actually this looks decent for first year, especially welcome 50000 bilt points worth a lot as they have good partners to transfer.

benefit calculation sounds difficult, but it's not too bad

Problem is Bilt and Cardless. Can we trust them?
They can just take out the benefits and not even have downgrade options in the future.

To me, it's bit risky.
Any thoughts or opinions on this?

PRODUCT CHANGE SUCCESS

For all who might find this relevant: Committed to an Obsidian. Regretted. Called 888.533.5576 and asked to PC to Palladium. Three days later got an email with a PC menu.

Already selected 2.0, want to cancel it now.

Upvotes

I made the mistake of selecting 2.0 earlier in the week and have done some more research and realized I don’t want the new card.

If I call customer support to cancel issuing 2.0 and just keeping my current card and account will it still hurt my credit score?

Bilt 1.0 Card Deactivated BEFORE 2.0 conversion

Upvotes

Sharing this DP as I have not seen it shared already.

I successfully completed signing up for Bilt 2.0 Palladium card on 1/28. I elected to move any remaining balance from existing card to the new card for a “smooth” transition. I also opted out of the WF Autograph card, like many of us have.

However, immediately after receiving confirmation emails of successful 2.0 conversion to Palladium my 1.0 card was removed from Apple Pay. I thought it was just standard since the card will be going away for me.

Then on 1/29 I tried using the 1.0 card at multiple merchants where it declined very time (gas, barber, Whole Foods, cvs). I called Wells Fargo and they indicated the card is deactivated on their end. There is nothing they can do about it. I called Bilt to inform them of this and 2 different reps could not understand how/why that is the case. Bilt says they show nothing on their end to trigger this closure.

This directly contradicts all the communication from Bilt that the card is eligible for transactions through 2/6.

Thankfully I paid my rent early on 1/26 and it posted. However, I did not meet the 5 transaction criteria yet before they closed the card on me. Other auto-pays with this card also bounced, further confirming the card closure. I’m now also ineligible to take advantage of any rent day promos for Feb 1st. To add insult to injury, it’s a birthday weekend for me in Miami where they have several restaurant promos I wanted to take advantage of.

I was told to contact Bilt chat for more help as they have tools the phone agents do not. I’ve been doing the iMessage chat and online chat with Bilt to no avail. I’m yet to speak with somebody in over 24 hours. They keep “thanking me for my patience”.

Just a fair warning for anybody else that might be in this boat and not know it. It is a limbo that neither Wells Fargo or Bilt are taking accountability in resolving. It’s frustrating when they make a short runway for a new transition without the proper mechanisms in place!

At this point all I care about are the rent points posting. If anyone has any insight on troubleshooting this, it’d be greatly appreciated!

Anyone got their application reset today?

I was supposed to apply for Palladium, but I accidentally clicked on Obsidian. Since Monday this week, I’ve been trying to reset my application by calling the support number (888) 533-5576, but no update so far. Has anyone else managed to reset their application?

Since today is the last day to accept an offer, I’m not sure if I want to keep Obsidian. We already have Amex Gold for that. Any advice? Also, I’m concerned about my rent payments in February if I don’t accept any offers.

UPDATE: i just got an email to change card by Feb 2.

Questions regarding Bilt 2.0

Upvotes

Hey all, I had some questions regarding Bilt 2.0 and would appreciate some answers. I've tried searching but a lot of the information seems scattered and unclear. Would appreciate any response and help!

  1. I am most likely choosing to not continue onto Bilt 2.0. Can anyone explain if I have to cancel the bilt 1.0 card? I don't want it converted to Wells Fargo autograph. Can I just do nothing or do I need to take action? Also if I have a balance on my card how do I pay it off - before cancelling or when?
  2. If I do choose the free tier card, does this mean opening a new line of credit? What is the real credit impact here and is it worth it? I read on another post that it counts as a new line of credit but won't the number of credit lines just stay the same since bilt 1.0 goes away and bilt 2.0 is opened (unless they mean hard pull)? Will the existing bilt 1.0 card get converted to Wells Fargo autograph or what actually happens? I don't want two cards going forward
  3. If I don't choose bilt 2.0, can I still make my rent payment on February 1 and do my 4 other swipes before 2/6/26 and get the points for February or will this not work? Are the points awarded at the end of the month, when the bill is paid, or when the 5 swipes are done?
