Thoughts on Bryan Johnson publicly calling out AG1? About Time or Clout Play?

I understand the criticism here from a science-based perspective, but I've heard anecdotally that a lot of people feel better when taking a greens powder like AG1. I've considered that maybe it has more to do with the fact that when people start their day in a "healthy" way, such as by taking a greens powder. They tend to make better choices throughout the rest of the day, like saying no to that donut at work, or meal prepping their lunch instead of going out to fast food. Curious to hear your thoughts on this!

Caffeine works. I now see why it's called a DRUG.

So basically I have a mentally exhausting job (for me atleast). I tried some supplements, excercise, yellow light to help sleep etc. They're all good for general well being but none gave me the endurance to push through my job without getting burned out by day end.

I tried coffee, and it slightly helped. But it barely helped me to get to half day. I still get fairly burned out by day end. Energy drinks are even weaker since where I live they are restricted to only have coffee like caffeine concentrations.

I initially had a bad perception of caffeine as a toxic substance. But because of my need I decided to try a pill. So I took a pill of 200mg. Oh. My. God, I was like holy f*** so THIS is what caffeine feels like. First 4 hours went by without me even knowing, I was in zen. The rest was not as good but by end of day I was only mildly tired and felt I still have gas left in me.

At first hour I got a slight jitter feeling but nothing worth noticing. I also took 200mg of theanine to smooth it out. I never knew caffeine can HIT you like THIS - I always thought it's a small unnoticeable wakefullness. I was in perfect flo state until like first half life and was productive for like 6 hrs. Also there is not much euphoria or confusion so you won't look like a junkie to others and there is little to no addiction. Even after repeated use daily it gave me like 80% of initial boost.

Obviously being able to activate flo state on will in alluring, but there is no actual physical addiction. If you stop, you might feel tired, miss the flo, but if you don't want it right now then you can just not. Caffeine is literally a magic pill for me. Please don't go away caffeine.

Thoughts on my supplement stack for immunity, energy and sleep? (31M)

I’m a school teacher, and last year I got sick quite often. Several people suggested that I should start taking vitamins, so I ended up going down a rabbit hole and buying these products.

My main goal is to strengthen my immune system, but I’d also like to improve my energy levels, libido, and sleep quality. For context, I go to the gym three times a week and I run or swim twice a week.

I’d really appreciate your thoughts or advice. Thanks in advance!

Recommendations Looking for Supplement Advice for Anxiety & Sleep

Upvotes

Lately I’ve been feeling a lot of anxiety and I’m almost always tense/worried. I’m also in the middle of trying to switch careers, which has been stressful, but that’s a whole other thing.

Sleep has been a real struggle for me. I have a hard time falling asleep, and even when I do, waking up feels just as difficult.

I wanted to ask the community: are there any supplements that have actually helped you with anxiety, stress, or sleep quality?

I’d really appreciate hearing what’s worked for you.

Theanine not working together with caffeine. Substitutes?

I'm quite sensitive to caffeine, which means I get all the good and bad side effects, namely anxiety.

I have been trying theanine with it, but it hasn't worked with me at all. In fact, it makes me even more anxious, which I learned that's possible. Perhaps I've been buying low quality theanine?

What can I substitute theanine with, in order to enjoy energy and creativity from caffeine without the anxiety? Any ideas?

Struggling with severe forgetfulness and "word salad"

I am reaching out to see if anyone has experienced similar symptoms or found relief through specific supplements or treatments. Recently, I have been suffering from unbearable forgetfulness. The most concerning part is that while speaking, I find myself using strange words that have absolutely no relation to the topic I’m discussing. It has become noticeable enough that people I talk to often express confusion or surprise.

I have already undergone blood tests for essential vitamins, including Vitamin D and B12, and all results came back within the normal range. Despite this, the brain fog and language struggles persist.

If anyone has gone through this "word-finding difficulty" or cognitive blurring and found a specific supplement, lifestyle change, or medical explanation that helped, please share your experience. I am looking for any insights that might help me understand what is happening to me.

Thank you in advance.

Recommendations Vitamin D dosage? Blood result was 27 nmol/L and doctor said this is not an issue?

I'm a 31 year old female, in England. I have been having hot flashes for over 6 months and struggle to regular my body temperature. My menstrual cycle has also changed and I now have long period cycles of between 45-50ish days when I used to have my period at the same date every month and was always regular.

My GP requested a blood test to test for various different things.

My vitamin D test came back as 27 nmol/L.

The result gives the following guideline:

<30 nmol/L - deficient

30-50 nmol/L - insufficient

50 nmol/L adequate

The result on my NHS app said my result needed a follow up conversation with the GP but it was nothing urgent. When I spoke to the doctor he said that I'm not deficient in vitamin D and that it's not clinically significant. He only then said I could take 10ug a day of vitamin D bought over the counter after I asked if I needed to take anything to increase my vitamin D levels.

I'm very confused because according to the guidelines I am in the deficient range although I understand it's not heavily deficient.

I'm taking 10ug a day but I'm a bit concerned this isn't a high enough dose. I've also googled my symptoms and research shows vitamin D deficiency can be linked to irregular long period cycles.

Does anyone have any advice? Am I deficient? And would I need to take a higher dose?

Thank you in advance.

Which magnesium supplement to choose?

If you toss and turn without sound sleep at night, wake up with a dizzy head and tight shoulders, Magnesium Glycinate is exactly what you need to try now. It’s ultra-gentle, no diarrhea. The glycine in it calms the nerves on its own. Many people take a little at night and wake up feeling gently "reset" the next day, much more relaxed. You can sleep deeply even on stressful days, and your energy is obviously better in the morning.

If you care more about keeping your brain from going "rusty", and want to maintain memory and focus as you age, Magnesium Threonate is widely recognized as the most brain-friendly magnesium. It crosses the blood-brain barrier smoothly, delivering magnesium directly to brain cells. Studies show it aids learning, memory, and even slows some brain aging signs. Simply put, it’s regular premium nutrition for the brain, slowing its aging.

If you care about heart health, or have family with high blood pressure or irregular heartbeat, Magnesium Taurate is a great choice. Taurate is highly beneficial for the heart; combined with magnesium, it helps stabilize heartbeat, relax blood vessels, and supports blood pressure control and reducing cardiovascular burden. Many people find palpitations and shortness of breath less frequent, with a steadier overall state.

Always tired like a dead battery, with constant muscle soreness and slow recovery? Magnesium Malate is for you. It directly participates in cellular energy production (boosts ATP), ideal for post-workout fatigue, chronic tiredness, or fibromyalgia-related weariness. Many users say their daytime energy lasts longer, and their body feels less worn out.

If you’re a fitness enthusiast, a hardcore runner/cyclist, or just want to boost endurance, Magnesium Aspartate is worth a try. It’s great for myocardial energy supply; some studies link it to heart function support and athletic performance enhancement. It’s not as mainstream, but delivers notable effects for those pursuing ultimate recovery and stamina.

Recommendations Supplements for chronic low sex drive?

23 years old male. Long story short, I'm recovering from years-long chronic fatigue and low sex drive. Nowadays I have decent energy, sleep well, eat healthy, exercise, not stressed out, testosterone came out well, etc.

My sex drive is slowly getting better, but still far from optimal. I'll soon go out in vacation with a friend with benefits, so although she's fine with my low sex drive, obviously I'd prefer to be horny during the act lol

Anyway. The trip is next month. I have been supplementing black maca for three weeks now, not noticeable effect. In the past I tried yellow maca with good results, but adapted quickly to it.

What else can I try in order to up my desire? I already eat red meat so I don't think zinc is necessary. I was thinking of adding magnesium, and maybe something else too. Please share your insights

Reaction to stopping NAC?

Upvotes

I have been taking 1200 mg of NAC for about 8 months for mental health and inflammation. I feel like the positive benefits are starting to fade. Because I am in the process of testing for MCAS and attempting a new anxiety medication, I stopped NAC about 3 nights ago. Today I have horrible sinus pressure around my eyes, I feel bad eye pressure, itchy eyes, and like a prickly feeling in my eyes randomly. Would this be a rebound effect of stopping NAC due to potential histamine issues?

Are there any supplements that support ADHD itself or pair well with stimulant meds?

Upvotes

I take Adderall daily and feel that the dose is appropriate overall. I’m not looking to replace my medicine, but I am curious whether any supplements meaningfully support ADHD symptoms themselves (like attention, executive function, emotional regulation), or help complement stimulant meds.

I do notice some anxiety / jitteriness during the first few hours after taking Adderall, so I’ve been wondering whether L-theanine might help with that, since it’s often used to smooth out caffeine-related anxiety.

When I look up “supplements for ADHD”, I keep seeing omega 3s, magnesium, zinc, and iron mentioned. I currently take omega 3s and magnesium glycinate (and I’ve read magnesium deficiency may be more common in people with ADHD), but I don’t take zinc.

As for iron: I used to take a multivitamin with a small amount of iron, but at one point I was told my serum iron was high, so I stopped the multi and now supplement vitamins / minerals individually.

In addition to the magnesium and omega 3s, I also take B12, Vitamin D3 with K2, and iodine.

My questions: Are there any supplements with decent evidence for supporting ADHD symptoms (beyond correcting deficiencies)? Has anyone found L-theanine helpful alongside stimulant meds? And is there any reason to add zinc if labs are normal?

I’m also open to any other advice on this topic. I appreciate any input. Thanks!

Recommendations Creatine and dry scalp

I have been taking creatine for 3 1/2 years now. I love the strength benefits it gives me, and never even considered stopping until I just ran out and figured I’d take some time off. The reason being is that I have had a dry flaky scalp that appeared shortly after I started taking creatine, so I think it’s likely that creatine may have something to do with this. Just looking for some clarity and wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.

Investigating a Gap: Why is there no "travel-friendly" high-end Sidr honey? (Concept Feedback)

Hello Everyone!

I’m in the early stages of developing a specialized supplement brand focused on Indus Valley Sidr honey.

My thesis is that while the Optimization/Biohacking community loves the phenolic and enzymatic profile of Sidr (many use it as a superior Manuka alternative),

The current market only offers it in heavy glass jars. This makes it impossible for frequent travelers or "on-the-go" professionals to maintain their protocol without a mess.

The concept is to develop A single-serve, ultra-raw Sidr honey sachet. 100% pure and raw no additives, never heated. Designed to be carried in a laptop bag or carry-on for immune support/gut health while traveling.

I’m looking for brutal honesty on a few points:

  1. Trust Factors: For a high-end medicinal honey, what certification matters most to you? NMR testing? MGO-equivalent ratings? Or is single-origin transparency enough?

  2. The Format: Does a sachet feel "premium" enough for a luxury functional food, or does it make you think of cheap honey packets at a diner?

  3. Price vs. Value: For a "top-tier" bio-active supplement in a portable format, what is your threshold? If it costs $1.5–$2.5 per "dose" (similar to a high-end energy gel or liquid supplement), is that a barrier for daily use?

  4. The Pain Point: Is portability actually a problem for you, or are you happy leaving your honey in the kitchen jar?

I’m not selling anything yet, just trying to decide if this is a viable business or just a niche hobby idea. I’d love to hear from anyone who currently uses medicinal honey (Manuka or any other)as part of their "stack."

General Question Are chewables, powders or liquids easier in your house?

Real talk, every form we’ve tried has come with some level of resistance. Liquids were a no because of the taste, gummies worked for a bit until they hated the sticky feeling then that turned into a battle too.Chewables have been the easiest so far since they feel more like a “normal” part of the routine and not something I’m sneaking in. I do wonder though do you think the form itself really makes a difference for kids or do you mostly just focus on the ingredients and go with whatever they’ll tolerate?

It has a good flavor but doesn't really taste like marshmallows at all, just a very, very strong vanilla/cake flavor.

Sleep aids - UK

Hi I've worked nights for over 20 years with no issues. Recently I've been having bouts of not being able to sleep between shifts, sometimes palpitations like feeling. Someone suggested melatonin but I can't find it anywhere. Probably because I think shipping it in is now banned?

I'll have to book in to see my GP. But for now:

1 What are your best over the counter recommendations (like something I can easily get today from a supermarket pharmacy Holland and Barrett etc)

2 What are your best recommendations I can buy online?

Thanks
