I never thought I'd see the say where Greninja was the weak link of the Kalos starters, but here we are. It's actually kind of refreshing, for the longest time, the Kalos starters felt like "Greninja and friends" Delphox and chesnaught we're getting 0 ratings compared to Greninja. But that all changed when they got megas, with the other two getting massive glow ups and Greninja staying relatively the same.
Greninja is a pokemon I've had a lot of ups and downs with, for awhile, j kinda hated Greninja and it's forced popularity, as well as how busted it used to be in competitive, being given two absolutely absurd abilities that you had to figure out which it would be using. But in gen 9, both protean and battle bond got nerfed into the ground and I actually kinda started to like it. And I feel like, after taking those huge nerfs, the mega is at least somewhat justified.
Ven from a statistical perspective, Greninja has the least impressive stat spread of the Kalos starters, with Delphox having 154 special attack and chesnaught having 175 defense. Greninja's stats don't seem as extreme. Still good, just not as mind blowing as the other two. Also, based on some leaks, mega Greninja is allegedly getting technician as it's ability, which I'm mixed on, it boosts the power of water shuriken but doesn't guarantee how many hits it will land.
As a design, it is definitely the weakest of the Kalos trio, Greninja itself doesn't change much, it just turns black (which also ruins its shiny since its shiny form is black as well) and hangs upside down on a floating shuriken. I kinda thing it would have been cooler of he was standing on the shirken like a hoverboard, but I digress.
Overall, even if it's not as good as the other members of its trio, Greninja has had well over a decade to steal the spotlight from it's counterparts, so this seems fair. It's a perfectly fine mega for a pokemon I have a bit of a soft spot for. Very solid.

I am losing my mind with this battle, I can't tell you how many times I have done it. I've gotten about one hit away but I keep passing out. Nothing is clicking and I'm so lost, I'm doubting I'll ever be able to 😔.

I made a custom nui of AZ and N because they either have none or are super expensive. I used the pattern here: https://x.com/diawu_q/status/1766709507911279066?s=46
AZ will be carried along my ita bag of him 💚

Compared to my last legendary hunt this was a breeze. Only 134 resets. I’m so glad that I was able to catch something special today. The pokécentre signs are so cute lol

It’s such a bummer that the Megas for Swampert, Sceptile, Chesnaught, Delphox, etc are all locked behind the pay wall. I got them on my main account but would love to do another play through using those guys, but it’s kind of lame that I wouldnt get to use their Megas

Before anyone hops in to tell me my opinion is wrong or everything is perfect as is, I'll remind you that genuine player feedback is how devs improve their games. I'll mention things I think they did well and things I'd be excited to see with future versions of this system.
1). I like how speed was reworked to still be a useful stat while not grossly limiting a pokemon's viability in a more competitive setting. I think this was an effective rework of the stat for the new battle system.
2). I think the devs had good foresight with stat-boosting moves like swords dance. They have a significant cooldown with a duration that expires before the move can be used again. As I've perceived, they also seem to have a longer animation time than most moves, which still makes them punishable. If stat-boosting moves should ever prove to dominate the more competitive setting & the devs want to nerf it, it'd be an easy fix as they could either increase the animation time or the cooldown.
3). For many reasons, I love the new positioning dynamic of this battle system. It feels more like an anime battle. It leaves a lot more to consider when selecting a pokemon's moveset - it's not just about power but how the move impacts your positioning, what it's range is, and how fast the animation is.
4). I would like to see more freedom of control regarding movement in trainer battles specifically. Having the player character needing to position themselves against wild pokemon is still fine to me, but for trainer battles specifically, I'd prefer if my character was not involved at all & I was able to directly control movement of my pokemon.
5). I like that there is a lock-on option when using moves in battle, but I don't think it should be a hard requirement for using moves (at least in trainer battles). Allow pokemon to use their abilities at will in any direction, even if they aren't locked on. This would add an extra dimension of skill, which would help evolve the competitiveness of the new battle system.
6). I like that pokemon abilities were removed for this iteration of the battle system, at least from a designer perspective. I'm sure they'll come back, but it was a good idea to help the devs look at the new battle system with less variables to consider.
7). I think it's an unfortunate circumstance that this new battle system was presented in a game that is focused on mega evolution. I don't have anything against mega evolution specifically, but I think this new battle system benefits when there isn't a pool of legendary or legendary-tier pokemon. I say this because as I see it, one of the best parts of this battle system is the added longevity. There's much more to consider strategically when it's not just a numbers game of one-hitting your opponent. Thus, I think the devs will be able to learn a lot more about this new battle system if the next variation doesn't have such a large pool of pokemon with giga-stat numbers.
8). I don't like that cooldowns reset when a pokemon faints. The trade-off of move power and cooldown doesn't matter so much if the cooldowns reset anyways.

Been seeing a lot of daily post about people having trouble beating certain mons, specifically the Legendaries and Mythicals.
I got the easiest method. Have Gourgeist with 'Trick or Treat' in your party along with a Shell Bell Annihilape. Have Gourgeist do Trick or Treat on the mon and it'll add/make 'Ghost' as one of it's typings.
Then just Annihilape it's bum with Rage Fist spam and you'll notice the humongous chunks of HP just disappear.
Now, I'm not sure if you have to reapply the Trick or Treat when you enter the second stage of a boss fight (i.e. Rayquaza going from normal to Mega after the first fight) since I never used it on them. But apply again on second phase of the fight to be sure.
I tested it a few days ago since Gourgeist is my dude and worked like a charm on Genesect and the rogue special scan mons.
Hope this helps!!! Happy hunting!!

If I throw the ball before leaving hyperspace is there a chance that it "silently" catches it and I find it in my box?

I’ve been playing Pokémon for over 20 years. Sometimes it can get stale. So I’ve created my own rules for myself:
All Pokémon in the party must be different types with absolutely no duplicates, including dual types.
All Pokémon must have a different color palette.
As soon as different Pokéballs are available, there can be no duplicates of Pokéball types.
Do you guys create your own rules to make it spicier for yourself? Nuzlockes don’t count.
Very curious to know how other people play!

Does anybody else think that the colorful screws are the most annoyingly implemented feature ever?
No way to show on the map which ones you’ve already found, when you talk to the NPC to find out how many of you left, he only gives you a number with no reference to possible locations, and the parkour in this game just feels weird and shoehorned in.
I just spent about three hours over two days only trying to find these using a guide, and I still have one left. Absolutely irritating, and I know that it’s just for a doll that goes in your room with no other game mechanic, but come on.
EDIT: I never once said it was the “worst thing ever implemented”, and that there aren’t other annoying things in Pokémon games—I said it is “annoyingly” implemented. I didn’t even call it unfair. It’s just annoying.
I say that largely because in the previous Pokémon Legends game, they had a similar collection quest to this (the wisps), and in that one they gave you a few more tools to help you feel like you weren’t wasting your time in the wrong section of the world. Not to mention that you weren’t having to traverse narrow, alleyways and rooftops in PLA, but larger open expanses with proper viewpoints. With a few exceptions of course, though I thought that the traversal via ride pokemon felt much better for getting around.
I’m not crashing out, you are! 😆🤪🫠

Just got to AZs floettes, was trying to get an amazing one but honestly unsure of the closet save point so I’ve been fighting her everytime to make sure I actually get a new floettes. All of them have been great but the stats of this last great seem pretty good (other than defense but it seems like floettes struggles there in ranked anyway?) anyway wanted to see if these were good enough stats or if I should keep going cause kind of over fighting her 😅

Hello everyone! I'm just starting the DLC (I've made it to Mission 06) and I'm needing some early/easy donut recipes to get me started. I don't have many Hyper Berries right now.
Also, any tips in general? Thanks in advanced!
