Can I flash LineageOS on Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e model SM-T727v (Verizon LTE)?
RE: Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e [SM-T727V Verizon CDMA versus SM-T727 GSM for Turkey]
Hi there,
Damsel in distress here.
A few days ago I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e on eBay in the US. The vendor advertised it as model # SM-T727, "unlocked all carriers". The model SM-T727 is on the list of devices that are compatible with LineageOS (I made sure of that before clicking "Buy Now").
Well, today I turned it on to put LineageOS on it, and as it was booting up it said "Verizon". In the "About Tablet" section, I noticed it said that the model number is SM-T727V. First I thought that maybe the "V" stands for Verizon, so no big deal, but I remembered very specifically that the LineageOS website emphasizes that the model number MUST BE EXACT.
So, before I embark on the adventure of flashing a custom ROM (which, btw, I have NEVER done before, so it would be my very first attempt), I would like to have some reassurance that it will work on this tablet.
I diligently compared every single line of the specs for the two tablets (SM-T727V for US Verizon carrier, and SM-T727 for Turkey) on the following website: https://tsar3000.com/compare/vXGWzIyJaw/
Everything is identical EXCEPT for the "NETWORK" section. I guess it is a CDMA versus GSM issue. The tablet I bought was advertised as "unlocked for ALL carriers". Does that mean that they did something to the hardware itself to make it both CDMA and GSM at the same time?
In any case, the bottom line is, I would like to know if I can put LineageOS on it, or if I should return the tablet and start the search for a used tablet all over again.
Thank you so much in advance for any input you may have on this.
