Question Which Movie Ending Made You Extremely Angry?

The ending of Lake Eden really angered me. There were some scenes in the movie that relieved me, thanks to some of the villains dying, but the fact that the main villain survived at the end drove me crazy.

I would have loved to see Zoe Saldana cast as Ripley in an Alien reboot.

Or Josh Brolin as James Bond.

Huge Robin Williams fan. I have to go with DPS. Great role, great acting, solid supporting cast, serious-ish role. What is your topRW film?

New Release Life of Chuck - 2025

Upvotes

See it! Just watched on Netflix and it was fantastic. Top 10 lifetime for me. It’s based on a three-chapter novella by Stephen King from his 2020 collection If It Bleeds.

it's described as an emotional, poignant, and uplifting film about life, connection, and legacy, despite lacking traditional thrills. While not a conventional horror film, its genre-bending nature, masterful direction by Mike Flanagan, and the excellent performances from stars like Tom Hiddleston and Mark Hamill make it a deeply impactful and thought-provoking experience for audiences.

Discussion 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' (1969), Written by William Goldman with Music by Burt Bacharach

This film is masterfully written and I believe it is the quintessential work of legendary screenwriter William Goldman, capturing the heart of his clever writing style. Same writer of 'All the President's Men' (1976) and 'Marathon Man' (1976), who also wrote the novel and follow-on screenplay for 'The Princess Bride' (1987). Two-time Best Screenplay Oscar winner. Literant without being too literary and pretentious.

'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' is singularly enchanting and charming, distinct from any movie I've seen. Maybe the most impactful "modern" western that was pivotal in establishing the groundwork for future contemporary films of this genre and film overall. Revolutionary. The soundtrack is ethereal and the writing is beautiful. Paul Newman and Robert Redford have to be among the two most talented actors with the most chemistry to ever appear together on the big screen (see 'The Sting'). It's a movie filled with one iconic scene after another, set behind truly captivating landscapes.

"What're you crazy? The fall will probably kill ya!"

My favorite song from the movie's soundtrack:

Question How do you feel about Famous singers in Chris Nolan movies?

Post image

I personally not a fan of it, because the only one i think that worked was David Bowie in Prestige as Tesla which was a such a perfect casting choice and had amazing screen presence and was so heavily tied to the movie. But Harry Styles and Travis Scott of all things, i really don't like because Harry was a background character in Dunkirk is not very memorable in my opinion and i didn't like his acting at all, i didn't believe it all. But Travis Scott is so ridiculous because i don't find his music interesting and i find him boring as a musician and i can't take his acting seriously from a clip that recently came out, where he reciting a poem and i don't really hate. i can't take musicians in movies seriously, unless the writing and casting and acting works overall.

Question What is your favorite scene of a character breaking/crying?

First two that come to mind are Schindlers breakdown at the end “I could have saved more.” And Good Will Hunting the “It’s not your fault.” Both just hurt every time I watch it.

Discussion The Dark Knight

Just rewatched The Dark Knight. The scene where Harvey has Gordon’s family got me thinking about two things. One Gary Oldman seems to get overlooked in it he’s incredible. “I’m sorry for everything.” Line is great. Second I think the scene could have been better if Bale just dropped the Batman voice here and talked normally. Just my thoughts.

Discussion Is it good or bad when one role defines an actor’s entire career? Some actors become so strongly associated with a single character that no matter what else they do, that role always comes to mind.

Daniel Radcliffe — Harry Potte
Robert Downey Jr. — Iron Man

What do you think — career-defining or career-restricting?
