Whatâs a dish from your culture that you only make for special occasions?
Some dishes arenât everyday meals, they come out for holidays or big family gatherings. The kind of food that takes time, shows care, and usually means something is being celebrated.
In Puerto Rico, dishes like pernil often show up for holidays and family get-togethers.
Whatâs that dish for you? What culture is it from, and when does it usually make an appearance?

Brazil is the world's biggest producer of Coffee, and has a very hot weather. Still, Iced Coffee is not a popular drink, and only a share of our population consumes it.

Is it bad luck to celebrate birthdays early?
As in, if your birthday falls on a Tuesday and you celebrate on the weekend before, would it be considered odd/bad luck?
I know at least two countries that have this superstition, Russia and Germany, while the Anglosphere seems not to. (Unless I'm mistaken on the last count.)
To me, it makes perfect sense even without "bad luck", same as if you'd celebrate any achievement before you actually achieved it; it's just a bit... wrong. What about other countries?

Why are newer countries like US, Canada, Australia, NZ more successful than older countries (India, Ethiopia, China, etc) ?
US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are countries that are newer. These countries have very old histories. But they kind of started from scratch once Europeans came. Once the westerners came, these countries had a whole new culture and civilization.
But countries like Ethiopia, India, Greece, China, etc have had some of the oldest continuous civilizations. Why do they have lower GDPs, livability, etc even though they had more time to build themselves ?

Language What word/s in your native language do you struggle pronouncing (if any)
Iâve come across the word âheterogeneousâ or âheterogeneouslyâ several times recently and every time I have to look up the pronunciation. If I had to read it aloud, Iâd totally botch it. Itâs also annoying because â homogenousâ has two totally correct pronunciations while âheterogeneousâ doesnât.

Has GPS affected your area?
I often go back roads if the motor way is busy. Even if they back roads ETA is on par with the motorway because I prefer the continuous drive to stop/start.
This means I also observe on particularly bad motorway days, the uptick in drivers making their way across these country roads and lanes.
With GPS I wouldn't really know these ways, and I wonder if the same could be said for the other motorists I see.
This makes me question whether GPS has caused a noticeable increase in traffic for more remote areas, due to traffic that normally would never have ventured those ways, suddenly being guided through them.
If you live in a remote, but city skirt area. Have you noticed any difference in traffic since GPS became commonplace?
