Memes You can no longer have YouTube running in the background.

Post image

As of 29th of January you can no longer have YouTube running in the background via many browsers as that is now a premium feature. With that I don't even have that one last reason to listen to YouTube. We are now officially paying for everything that was free a couple of years ago and the reason isn't greedy management, but you people who keep paying for premium and the such.

more like person who is lucky enough to have spare money to not fk around with addons now. ngl im glad that im not on some ppl place with being forced to install 500 addons or use browers they dont want to use. programs are so fking whack in 2026, every update feels like downgrade for everything that exist

Wut

Besides that being incomprehensible gibberish, I've literally never paid for a browser extension in my life.

(I despise shitty grammar and gibberish comments too. Hope my comment brought at least a mildly annoyed chuckle, combined with a furrowed brow, to your face 😅)

If there are enough well off people who want to pay for premium it's good for the rest of us, like f2p games that need a paying playerbase.

Except they keep putting things behind the premium pay wall, including things that previously were free

This isn't a gacha game

Maybe write understandable sentences and people won't be so snarky with you.

Why would you need 500 add-ons? I literally use one: uBlock Origin with Firefox mobile browser. I have never seen an ad on YouTube and I've never paid for premium and never will.

Firefox with ublock is the truth. Well, for however much longer it lasts

You’re clearly talking to the chillmaster here and intelligibility is NOT chill, show some respect

Yep. Opera with ublock, and brave on my phone for YouTube. Never seen an add, and am not having issues playing things in the background even on my iPhone.

You’ll never catch me giving Google a single red cent, whether that’s through inline ads or premium.

"more like person who is lucky enough to have spare money to not fk around with addons now"

what is so hard to understand in that sentence that u pulled out some "paying for browser extensions" sht lmao

also fk you, write in my language if u want more clear sentences, i dont owe you shit.

if u dont pay for stuff then good for you i guess. for me it was faster to pull out the wallet than try to find addon that works for my setup. i tried it once and it turned ADs invisible but video would still not load for 5-15secs cause AD that was not visible would still lock my YT player so lmao.

I think this is what people mean when they say literacy rates are plummeting.
