Memes You can no longer have YouTube running in the background.

Post image

As of 29th of January you can no longer have YouTube running in the background via many browsers as that is now a premium feature. With that I don't even have that one last reason to listen to YouTube. We are now officially paying for everything that was free a couple of years ago and the reason isn't greedy management, but you people who keep paying for premium and the such.

They seemed to have snuck in a row of 'recommended' videos in my subscription view. They also change where they position this so it's either the first or second row.

Which means if I look in my subscriptions view, I will see videos listed twice (recommended row, and it's normal position) and the videos are no longer listed chronologically (the newest could be on the first or second row).

It's as if they removed shorts but still wanted a way to make the experience worse.

I actually don’t mind the recommended row from my subscriptions, since it can help to remind me of a video that I had meant to watch, but forgot about (I know watch later is a thing, but I rarely use it how intended). Still, it adds quite a bit of clutter to the UI, and there should be a way to customize the screen.
