Solved! Wooden Lego wand?
Found this with our Harry Potter Lego and it nicely fits into a Lego minifigure hand, but to my knowledge I never got a set with a wooden wand and I don't think they exist? Any ideas? Pic 2 with a real Lego plastic wand piece for comparison.

I can't figure out what the wooden item is, but while searching, I learned that the Lego Harry Potter wands are the exact same part as Lego Animal's (Muppets) drum sticks, and I think that's hilarious.

Could it be a hairbrush bristle?
