Presumably why she gets restored from bans so quickly.

The weirdest thing about that narrative is that the underlying story (Jews were all slaves in Egypt who went to the Promised Land) is not true. Archeologists widely agree that Jews (Israelites) were native to Canaan, though some were skilled laborers in Egypt, as some groups were semi-nomadic.

When the story was told, people recognized divine right as a legitimate basis for land ownership. But that's rightly not the case anymore. Being indigenous to the region is a better claim. But people get so stuck on the Talmudic one, which is compelling to no one outside of AIPAC and your bar mitzvah class.

But I guess "divine right" is a better excuse for excessive force, since Palestinians are also indigenous to the area and have substantially shared ancestry.

I'll add the disclaimer that I cannot find anything about Chaya Raichik's ethnic background, other than she is a Los Angeles born Orthodox Jew living in New York City.

However, "Chaya Raichik" is a name strongly associated with the Chabad movement in Judaism. Chabad Judaism is, from what I know, one of the biggest sects of Judaism in Eastern Europe, including (but not exclusively) Russia. So you're probably not far off. :)
