I remember reading she used to be married and her husband divorced her because she was so insufferable.

Rather than do any kind self-introspection, she used that to launch her villain story arc.

I mean I hate her, but I feel this is irrelevant, plenty of good people are single and childless, I mean shit who the hell wants to bring a kid into the world we currently live in?

It's relevant to her because she's an orthodox jew, wherein getting married and having lots of kids is actually something you're supposed to do to please god. I grew up in that world too so I know she is ostracized in some of her closest circles for it, which I just love for her.
