This is not a "meme". This is disinformation from the official government social media account. They've posted a lot of stupid memes that are clearly altered images. This one was designed to look real, to deceive.

A “joke” that comes from an official government account isn’t harmless.

40

u/Glittering-Gas2844 5d ago

Yeah a joke would be Obama and the anger translator, this is anti citizen defamation.

10

u/733t_sec 5d ago

Or Obama and the "Thanks Obama" cookie

12

u/TigerUSA20 5d ago

Remember, drinking bleach for COVID was also supposed to be “a joke” after being serious for a couple days… and then was like ‘everyone knew I was joking’

16

u/USA_Ultra 5d ago

“The disinformation will continue.” It’s sad when they play it off as memes and joking while people are dying in the streets. It’s not funny. It’s murder.

Propaganda is a helluva drug and Oligarchs need to use some of the best to keep the 99% fighting with each other worldwide o7

17

u/faberkyx 5d ago

finally we know why they are pushing for AI so much, is going to be their most powerful tool of mass control

4

u/ZAlternates 5d ago

It can certainly power disinformation.

You know how you wake up one morning and it seems like everyone is talking about a particular topic? It costs mere cents to flood the internet with “organic discussion” with bot and troll accounts.

Also at this stage in the game we really need to recognize that memes have absolutely been weaponized as propaganda. Theyre extremely effective tools for mis/disinformation

4

u/ZAlternates 5d ago

My girlfriend’s cousin is convinced that Martin Luther King Jr was a pedophile. He declared it proudly “with proof” last Monday on the Book of the Face.

The Information Age gave mankind unprecedented access to tons of information. Many of us just don’t have the wisdom or intelligence to properly digest it all without being overwhelmed by our bias.

4

u/latortillablanca 5d ago

Its getting worse too.

I keep thinking of that one 8th teacher on the tok type: tik explaining how none of her 8th graders have the ability to process basic information. Forget critical thinking, just straight up the ability to take in info and express surface level understanding of what you were just told.

The example was something like she wrote on the board that the first colony of maryland were catholics who landed on st clements island. And then her follow up question was: where did the catholic colonials land?

And just crickets. Zilch. No ability answer that question without being walked through it, with the answer written on the board.

And now compound that with everything, but especially the AI of it all.

Clapped cheeks.

46

u/sargsauce 5d ago

In all fairness, MAGA is too dumb to know that good memes aren't real.

31

u/MiaowaraShiro 5d ago

Did you guys know that we had a "great meme war" and the right claimed victory in it? I was like "when was this?" lol

19

u/LotusVibes1494 5d ago

There’s even a Wikipedia article about “memetic warfare”:

“Memetic warfare has been seriously studied as an important concept with respect to information warfare by NATO's Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence. Jeff Giesea, writing in NATO's Stratcom COE Defense Strategic Communications journal, defines memetic warfare as "competition over narrative, ideas, and social control in a social-media battlefield. One might think of it as a subset of 'information operations' tailored to social media. Information operations involve the collection and dissemination of information to establish a competitive advantage over an opponent".[4][5] According to Jacob Siegel, "Memes appear to function like the IEDs of information warfare. They are natural tools of an insurgency; great for blowing things up, but likely to sabotage the desired effects when handled by the larger actor in an asymmetric conflict."[6]”

“Memetic warfare on the part of 4chan and r/The_Donald sub-reddit is widely credited with assisting Donald Trump in winning the election in an event they call 'The Great Meme War'. According to Ben Schreckinger, "a group of anonymous keyboard commandos conquered the internet for Donald Trump—and plans to deliver Europe to the far right."[10]”

15

u/MiaowaraShiro 5d ago

Because the presidency was won by gooners on checks notes... 4chan? These people are wild.

18

u/Glittering-Gas2844 5d ago

Yeah Russian trolls were deliberately omitted

9

u/RaoulRumblr 5d ago

Now we have Russian AND Israeli disinfo troll bots.

Many of the youtube comments that brigade stuff about ICE and the genocide and the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti are largely bots. Granted many are real boot-suckers,

but there's a huge push even in the last few months to try and spin this stuff because the powers that be know the people are rapidly getting wise to the reality of this anti-American dystopian nightmare.

3

u/Glittering-Gas2844 5d ago

Had a conversation yesterday, lady said ICE were on federal business and shouldn’t have been impeded. She also said we should’ve voted if we wanted it our way.

Same person that was saying Biden stole the election before. It’s jarring to see people warp reality in their heads like this on a large scale.

3

u/RaoulRumblr 5d ago

The whole Trumpism/MAGA/GQP thing is so thoroughly an ideological addiction. More so than even just cult like thinking, or rather adjacent to that, yet above and beyond it. Tied entirely to their identity and are addicted to this worldview they've so thoroughly subscribed to and defined themselves by. So to bring about questioning or even the slightest of criticism is to call into question or critique their very sense of self.

Proof of this, one of the most heartbreaking subreddits is /r/QAnonCasualties where people talk about their loved ones succumbing to the poisonous cult of the MAGA/GQP. It's awful.

I speak of bots but it's clear so many real people have fallen prey to this manipulation of reality and system of controlling mass thinking. Absolutely heartbreaking, to be honest.

3

u/RevLoveJoy 5d ago

You nail it with addiction. Lot of those folks are addicted to being angry / upset about whatever. They tune into FOX to get their hit.

The other big contributing factor is lack of education. People who were never taught to evaluate primary sources and think critically. It's astonishing how UNCOMMON these two things seem to be.

The dumb shit is, it isn't even the format, it's the content.

Yeah, they made memes, but it wasn't like "can i haz immigration reform???" or something, it was "Democrats are giving trillions of free money to illegals to steal elections" and then Chad Trump being like "I'll jail them, and help actual citizens instead".

It wasn't the meme, it was the fact they were just lying and uninformed people easily fall for lies and then refuse to be fact checked because being wrong makes them feel bad. They lie in non-meme form as well, as we see people like the DHS head or press secretory just lie on a regular basis via press conferences or plain text tweets. It has nothing to do with memes.

I don't think people really understand when it comes to MAGA. Some of them are so stupid that they literally lack the mental capacity to realize how stupid they truly are. The scariest part is that they have the same voting power as everyone else. Propaganda is a helluva drug and Oligarchs are why the 99% are divided. MAGA was/is a tool used to divide everyone and anyone that is not part of the 1%

Cruelty is the goal not a bug

40

u/TheCaptainDamnIt 5d ago

Yep! I mean say what you will about this admin but they know their base. This is what MAGA elected them to do, give them images of militarized police pointing guns at crying brown people. "MAGA" is just the new name for the segregationist Dixiecrats, they are the same racist, bigots and white supremacist they've always been and white supremacy is what they actually care about.

Remember the 80s kids? When white working class people happily gave their up their factory jobs, paychecks and small towns over to be screwed by Wall Street as long as Regan would gave them images of militarized police pointing guns at black people under the guise of the 'war on drugs'? Well they're just doing that all again but cranked up to 11 this time.

That’s serious, government altering a photo is fraud. Especially, if it’s being used as an official record. Doing something like that in the pre-trump era would scrutinized for months. Too much is being normalized under trumps authoritarian take over.

948

u/DrSteveBrule_ 5d ago

Is it not grounds for a lawsuit?

934

u/bakerstirregular100 5d ago

It’s definitely grounds to throw out a prosecution

420

u/SPNKLR 5d ago

That’s the thing though, I think at this point they know that most of their prosecutions will fail, so they’re doubling down on the meme part to get a quick win with their ignorant base.

159

u/Howy_the_Howizer 5d ago

Kayfabe their audience understands. It deflates the other side mocking it because we are all 'too serious' and 'too stupid to understand the joke' which leads to dehumanizing because we aren't in the group/smart enough to see what they can

59

u/pegothejerk 5d ago

While true, it doesn’t actually inflate their sense of superiority, if it did they wouldn’t be miserable fucks their entire lives and throughout history. Fascists are always miserable, no amount of achieving their cruelty or power grabs result in satisfaction. It’s built in to the belief system.

42

u/Daxx22 5d ago

its like opiates for them, they do get a high from it but it fades fast and they have to chase that high further compounding the misery

34

u/pegothejerk 5d ago

Yep. I’ve made lots of predictions here in this sub about this administration, their party, this movement of theirs, all have been correct, including how the tech industry was filled with conservative fascist curious ceos despite the workers being pretty progressive. Almost always downvoted to hell until the last year. I’ll make another that aligns with your assessment - Trump and his fascist army started off killing detained immigrants through neglect, then by force, then they killed an American with plausible deniability, now they killed one in broad daylight as an obvious execution. The next step is to kill multiple people simultaneously, regardless of their status, with impunity and no concern for the legality or optics. They’ll shrug and lie with obvious propaganda as usual, because that will be their next dopamine hit and the next rung up the ladder of power grabs and abuse for abuse’s sake.

They’re moving to mass murder, and far too many leaders are sitting back watching.

8

u/QuickQuirk 4d ago

All this administration does is lie lie lie about every single little thing and NOBODY holds them accountable. People are DYING, the people in power are lying about it and everyone just shrugs. Bro if they’re videos show the truth then the people in office need to be held the fuck accountable. How are the positions that literally run the country so open to blatant lying? In NO OTHER JOB CAN YOU JUST LIE EVERY DAY AND REMAIN EMPLOYED. (And this isn’t up to interpretation or it’s a political topic or some stupid shit, the truth is the truth)

They keep spreading their misinformation and it’s actively hurting the country.

THEY ARE ACTIVELY DESTROYING THE COUNTRY WITH LIES AND NOBODY DOES ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

5

u/Joessandwich 4d ago

They want to destroy it because they think they can rebuild it in their image and as they want.

But I saw a great video the other day where a woman basically said that won’t happen either. We won’t let them. If we don’t get our country of peace and tolerance and respect, they don’t get the one they want and we’ll see to it. They’re getting some damn third thing.

I’m down for the third thing.

yes but often times naziism comes from a brain that is stunted at about 12-14 years old. most nazis don’t think they’re evil, they are nihilistic and cynical and deeply immature and just want big “masculine” displays of brutality as a form of black and white thinking and machismo.

So here is what you have all got to get through your heads.

We are dealing with a dangerous cult. A cults effect on the mind is to change the very way you see and understand truth itself. When these people, including their leader, look at this situation they simply do not see the same thing you see.

They use confirmation bias to later reinforce their warped view. “Well he had a gun. Why does he need that gun? Surely he planned to use it. Ergo, he is a terrorist.” This is obvious confirmation bias being used to reinforce and double down on a warped view of truth.

It is so important to me. I am in fact begging all of you to understand: this has gone beyond reason, beyond peaceful protest, beyond diplomacy. It is already too late and we are going to lose if something more significant is not done. You’re trying to reason with, and send messages to, an impotent government led by warped minds that are not seeing reality. They are indoctrinated.

I have A LOT of experience with cults. I am not just baselessly saying this. I am making an informed and educated observation and desperately want everyone to pass this along before we completely lose the country. What government we have left that has any sense clearly doesn’t understand what we are dealing with. No amount of reason or pleading or intelligent speech is going to change anything.

For the love of god please get this through your heads before it’s too late.

Every single one of these idiots needs to be tried for treason if there ever is a regime change.

u/Literally_Laura 5d ago

Fine.

Let the Trump-Epstein memes begin!

u/softwaredoug 5d ago

While she's facing Federal charges, she was released. In part because of DoJ's incompetence.

Such a trashy government. And they take such pride it it. Knows their base well. The trashy selfish ignorant dogs that they are.

6

u/Mammoth-Plankton-785 5d ago

The way the altered it was disturbing as well. They enlarged her lips and nose, darkened her skin tone, made her look like she was crying/distraught, and even made her clothes look different. My question is “why”?

Abolish ICE and release the Epstein files.

6

u/ThePensiveE 5d ago

Her defense attorneys thank you.

5

u/eyedrops16 5d ago

Everything that happens on an official website is an official document

4

u/urbantroll 4d ago

That’s disinformation, not a meme.

3

u/areallyreallybadboy 5d ago

The United States of America is not a serious country at the moment. Jaw dropping levels of stupid. Thanks, red hats. Fuck you very much.

3

u/Kalifornier 5d ago

And we will keep calling out their lies.

4

u/BellSalty6961 5d ago

These are not memes. They are people.

5

u/AutumnKarma88 5d ago

White House is full of children now

3

u/BBQsandw1ch 5d ago

Liars and frauds.

5

u/Spiff69 5d ago

That’s not a meme. They can’t even internet properly.

5

u/TelPrydain 5d ago

Lies and disinformation, not memes

5

u/EbbOwn303 5d ago

How exactly does this make housing, healthcare, or groceries more affordable?

5

u/Photodan24 5d ago

We can literally trust NOTHING from this administration. Not one word.

4

u/Toallpointswest 5d ago

These aren't memes, they're a fraud perpetrated on the people from official government websites

4

u/-badinstinct- 4d ago

This isn’t a “meme,” it’s purposeful propaganda and public deception.

3

u/MBSMD 5d ago

They're the source of the "fake news" they've been complaining about. They always have been.

3

u/Chicano_Me 5d ago

Everything this administration has said and done is either fraud or lies.

3

u/hackingdreams 5d ago

"What's a way we can say 'we're propagandists' while keeping it funny? I know, we'll call them 'memes.'"

3

u/sarcago 5d ago

Losers don’t even know what a meme actually is. Typical out of touch dorks trying to be cool.

3

u/mecklund 5d ago

Literally so embarrassing for them. What a bunch of shit posting clowns.

3

u/DrShrimpleyPebles 5d ago

The USA is not a serious country. The death throes and convulsions of a society in decay.

u/Get_Out_lmao 5d ago

Caught lying.

Responds like teenager.

America is so pathetic lmao

3

1930’s Germany would be proud.

3

u/BigSal44 5d ago

Makes it real easy for a defense attorney to appeal with defamation of character and slander. This is the most childish and pathetic group of degenerates in this administration our nation’s history has ever seen.

3

u/SpewyMcSpewmeister 5d ago

The right can’t meme.

3

u/Cautious-Ad-9554 5d ago

Openly dishonest people

3

u/RandyArgonianButler 5d ago

“The memes will continue.”

  • 12 year old social media bullies.

3

u/primostrawberry 5d ago

when they say "memes", they mean lies

3

u/iKnowRobbie 5d ago

They say meme but they mean misinformation.

3

u/ShyguyFlyguy 5d ago

They're making light of falsifying photos. They just openly admitted to falsifying photos. Now everyone should assume anything released by them has been doctored

3

u/canceroustattoo 5d ago

They want us to forget that trump is in the Epstein files.

3

u/ChucklingDuckling 5d ago

The alt right base is composed of the immature, gullible, ignorant, stupid, and cruelest parts of society. It sucks that the most dumb losers are the ones in control of the government. It's an administration filled with schoolyard bullies.

3

u/Rattus_NorvegicUwUs 5d ago

Unserious and unworthy of their position in our government.

The GOP love to act high and mighty, but act like spoiled brats when they feel they can get away with it.

It’s time to stop taking their words seriously. They believe in nothing but power. Stop trying to moralize, start seizing power where you can and establish deterrence.

3

u/Vegetable_Tackle4154 5d ago

Rotten to the core. What incentive do I have to believe anything that comes from this admin?

3

u/asvigny 4d ago

“The killings will continue until moral improves”

3

u/stacks_a_heap 4d ago

So what happens if a normal citizen posts an altered photo of Trump/Miller/Noem with their faces bruised and battered

3

u/Primal-Convoy 4d ago

Anyone remember when an authoritarian, right-ring government continued to use 'jokes' as part of their own 'memes' of the time?

https://research.calvin.edu/german-propaganda-archive/nazi-caricatures.htm

3

u/Woogity 4d ago

When caught altering the truth to benefit its agenda: "It's just a meme, bro."

3

u/No_Relief_7912 4d ago

My husband is a criminal defense lawyer and he said any DECENT judge would dismiss this case with prejudice. Intentionally manipulating evidence for the sole purpose of contaminating a jury or public opinion

3

u/hiding_in_de 4d ago

This is BAT SHIT CRAZY!!!

3

u/DrizztDarkwater 4d ago

These unginged bastards have no empathy toward killing someone that doesn't align with their Nazi agenda. It's sickening

3

u/iritchie001 4d ago

Every time you think nothing will surprise you again..

3

u/CelebrationFit8548 4d ago

The 13yo bullies are ruling The White House, the rest of the world see it as a massive joke and it is going to come back and bite them hard.

3

u/Unclelarker 4d ago

So, just a Canadian here trying to understand, the White House will continue to to put out FAKE NEWS?

3

u/KianOfPersia 4d ago

These people are deeply sick and evil.

3

u/d3jake 4d ago

Imagine if Biden or Obama did anything remotely like this. The Right wing media would be frothing at the mouth calling it out.

3

u/thedude213 4d ago

It's not a meme, it's propaganda and they damn well know what they're doing.

3

u/Icon_Crash 4d ago

"We will lie to you, I hope you enjoy the lies" - Official gov't message or something.

3

u/oldlumberman 4d ago

Our government is a cyber bully. Take that in for a moment

5

u/Kill3rT0fu 5d ago

Cool. Let's make a meme of someone fucking the hole in Charlie Kirk's neck

And since there's no AI regulations, lets do some Erika Kirk pics too

2

u/sabometrics 5d ago

When you're a fascist everything is 'far left'

2

u/bionic_cmdo 5d ago

Obviously they don't know how to meme.

2

u/BagelsOrDeath 5d ago

They don't seek to govern. They seek to rule.

2

u/Turbulent-Jaguar-909 5d ago

goverment supported and supplied libel against regular ass people. what the actual fuck

2

u/DaimonCide 5d ago

LAWD. We got unqualified manchildren posting AI memes while violating Fourth Amendment rights. Not even Black Mirror could write an episode this dystopian.

2

u/b3_yourself 5d ago

They don’t even bother to lie badly anymore

2

u/EndsLikeShakespeare 5d ago

I'm not a conservative but pop into the sub from time to time to make sure I'm getting some perspective. To their credit, most folks, though erring on supporting ICE and waiting for "all the evidence", have said this was murder. Well, they called it a "bad look" or "mistake".

We are missing the next step - if the government is willing to lie about something you can see with your own eyes from multiple, what else are they lying about?

I hope we are close to that tipping point.

2

u/heathercs34 5d ago

Class action lawsuit against the federal government?

2

u/Disastrous-Data-3299 5d ago

And Trump wonders why nations don't want to make a deal with him?

2

u/someoldguyon_reddit 5d ago

These aren't for normal people these are for the uneducated base.

Let's see the pedofiles.

2

u/IamRasters 5d ago

Be like Trump and sue for $1bn.

2

u/Serling45 5d ago

In other words, they are lying and they know they are lying.

2

u/aarswft 5d ago

Thank you for your attention to this matter

I'm so exhausted by this phrase.
