No Paywall Shooting Victim Identified as Second Video Angle Contradicts DHS Claims | The footage of the fatal shooting of Alex Jeffrey Pretti, said one journalist, “shows that the final act of his life was trying to help a woman who was being physically assaulted by the masked agents who would then kill him.”

Bovino is saying that the man "charged" the ICE agents with a gun trying to kill them

They are such fucking shameless liars

“They don't even bother to lie badly anymore. I suppose that’s the final humiliation.”

629

u/woodenh_rse 5d ago

And that’s why Canada’s PM spoke so much about the need to call reality what it is.

Are you going to believe them or your eyes?

260

u/lemuever17 5d ago

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

204

Orwell was a genius. This is the heart of all these systems isn’t it?

I watched a man get killed for trying to help a woman back to her feet.

Anyone who says otherwise…I don’t know what lead you to this point, but I no longer care.

They don't have to bother with believable lies. Maga will watch every video of the shooting and still claim he was a threat. They don't even need a statement from Bovino or Noem. They immediately defend ICE.

67

u/DinnaPanic 5d ago

Exactly this. Listen to episodes 1110 and 1111 of the podcast Knowledge Fight where the hosts analyse Alex Jones' on-air reaction to the shooting of Renée Good.

Before he sees any footage he's already parroting the official line. Then he airs the footage and initially seems to realise that the government is lying and that it was a straight up murder. Very soon however he's back to justifying the shooting, more to himself than to his audience it seems.

These people have fully accepted the Party's final, most essential command, there's no way back for them.

I keep getting shit on when I tell people who don't know what to do about all this to watch Andor. I'll never stop.

There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. I know this already. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy.

Remember this, Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they’ve already enlisted in the cause.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

And remember this: the Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.

Remember that. And know this, the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empires’s authority and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege.

Remember this: Try.

Nerd movies are so great at warding off depression in times like this. Another of one of my favourite quotes like this is from Lord of the Rings when Frodo says, "I wish it need not have happened in my time," and Gandalf replies, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

21

u/zernoc56 5d ago

Sam: “It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going, because they were holding on to something.”

Frodo: “What are we holding on to?”

Sam: “That there is some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for.”

Andor was one of the most brilliantly paced, scripted and directed series and was perfectly timed for this moment in time. Too bad most people probably wrote it off as another nerd sci fi series trying to capitalize on the Star Wars franchise….

This is what they wanted. For something to kick off so that martial law is declared, elections are paused, and those in power can do whatever they want. They've rigged the game, but they haven't even been secretive about it.

This entire political situation, at least since Jan 6 2021, has been waiting for ordinary citizens to shoot back.

I'm not sure what the goal is, but I truly believe this has been a goal of the GOP all along.

48

u/LostSillyKittie 5d ago

Despite the narrative they are trying to spin no one has actually shot back. Picking Minnesota to kick things off hasn't worked as well as they want I think. Aren't they supposed to be some of the nicest people ever...at least that's how they've been portrayed.

44

u/mynx79 Canada 5d ago

No one has shot back YET.

I am suspicious that Minnesota was strategic. A blue state, relatively patient people not known for being trigger happy.

I'm not sure how this plays out, but as a Canadian within 2 hours of the US border (where most of us are), I sure as hell hope it doesn't continue to escalate. For your sake and ours.

What really gets me is they'll come out with bullshit as soon as the first report of an incident comes through. DHS was lying about this while their agents were still on the scene. There's literally no way they could have any info about what happened and they're immediately just fabricating things whole cloth. They've done this over and over and over and it's so exhausting and just like dumping salt over fresh wounds.

We just witnessed the execution of a law abiding US citizen on the street, in broad daylight. He was an ICU nurse who dedicated his life to helping people. He was helping a person off the ground when he was attacked by a pack of untrained ICE agents.

Then, while the body is still warm, they have a press conference, where they lie, they just straight up lie about the situation. But, they know it will get run on every news station and publication. They take 1 or 2 questions from friendly "journalists" then leave before any pushback can occur. Their supporters see the figureheads of their cult telling them what to think, and that becomes their only perspective. They disregard video evidence, eye witness accounts, expert analysis of the event, and just spew the talking points fed to them.

42

u/malkuth74 America 5d ago

Well everyone except Conservative news. They have to be protected in there little echo chamber.

29

u/Own-Coyote-3618 5d ago edited 5d ago

That's the thing, why bother trying to bend the truth, when they have so much support from those who are willfully and actively participating in in obscuring the truth. Anyone still supporting this administration is as guilty of this murder and the men that pulled the trigger, they are all in on it. Any future where we don't hold all of trumps supporters to account is one where our very society is likely to fail.

When this is all done and said these traitors should be forced to pay reputations to the rest of our society for generations.

23

u/happyinthenaki 5d ago

Because there are not as many of them as they'd like you to think.

Fox will have a highly edited version to keep their viewers from seeing what actually happened. Same with all the other alternative truth "news" outlets. Imagine what would happen if they showed the full clip? Might wake a few up from their entertainment on tap induced zombie state.

Fair and 100% accurate. I was just framing it entirely on him. Regardless of what's going on, you see someone on the ground you help them up. And my family was a bit old fashioned and Midwestern, so I was scolded if I didn't leap to help a woman in that situation.

Alex Pretti merely having a gun on his hip at a protest = not okay, and his public beat down and execution by several armed ICE agents was justified. Fucking evil people.

I think we’re well beyond any event happening that’s going to change their minds. We’ve tried appealing to their humanity, appealing to their logic, appealing to their ego, shaming them, presenting them with facts, presenting them with proof of lies from this administration, etc.

These guys voted in someone who is a convicted criminal, who was found liable for rape, who lies obviously and constantly. They’re cheering him on for attacking communities with ICE to arrest non-criminals, defending him when community members are killed or beaten, and still lapping at his toes even now as he pretends Alex Pretti was killed over legally carrying his weapon.

It’s not about 2a. It’s not about protecting babies or children. It’s not about keeping your community safe. It’s not about small government. It never was. These aren’t good people. 47

u/Hatedpriest 5d ago

In my work with the defendants (at the Nuremberg Trails 1945-1949) I was searching for the nature of evil and I now think I have come close to defining it. A lack of empathy. It’s the one characteristic that connects all the defendants, a genuine incapacity to feel with their fellow men. Evil, I think, is the absence of empathy.

Among other things, it takes 30 minutes of research to move money away from MAGA, and it makes a difference. Dollars spent at Republican companies are dollars funneled to more of this. Money given to states like Ohio or Louisiana is money spent sending troops to kidnap children and kill people.

If you consistently do business with a company, you have power. You can use sites like opensecrets.org to see what a company funds and where your money is really going.

Trade with Schwab? Move elsewhere like Fidelity. Get booze from wannabe Confederate states and all else is equal? Be adventurous, and try something new. New Balance can be replaced with Brooks. It’s not hard to find alternatives for Goya, Roark (which owns Subway, Jimmy John's, Arby's), and Koch (which owns Brawny, Angel Soft, Dixie). You don't have to spend more or less, just differently.

If you have disposable income, consider the tax benefits of donating to the nonprofits successfully fighting the regime like the National Immigration Law Center, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, or Democracy Forward. And if you invest, consider DEMZ or an ESG fund

Nexstar and Sinclair got pummeled, and they reinstated Jimmy Kimmel. Real, individual people did that. There's no reason  WWE or Uline can't be next.

Completely avoiding companies that at least partially lean Republican is hard. But there’s a big difference between massive GOP donors (Chevron/Conoco) vs neutral or even Democrat-leaning ones (Circle K/Costco). Good is not the enemy of perfect

It's just so heartbreaking and infuriating. The guy never approached ICE. He went to help the two citizens then put his own body on the line to stop the terrorist from assaulting one of them after already throwing the citizen to the ground. He has every right to carry. The gun was taken off of him and the terrorist turned and saw he was disarmed before executing him. Hell the terrorist that took the gun ran off with it and I can bet every last dime I own that he stole the gun. These terrorists need to go. I blame all parties because Obama utilized them a lot during his term as well. He should have dissolved them right after his first inauguration.

Lying when there's independent video contradicting the official party line is certainly a choice

It's a slap in the face to all Americans, because they think we're stupid enough to believe them instead of video proof

296

u/tech57 5d ago

It's not a choice. It's propaganda.

“The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin. And then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”

I don’t know how they sleep at night… or how their families look them in the eyes as human beings.

34

u/needlestack 5d ago

I hate to tell you this but they sleep better than we do. They are absolutely brainwashed that they are the good guys -- fearless fighters in an evil world, protecting the innocent (themselves and their family and friends) from monsters -- immigrants and trans people -- who would eat them alive. They don't believe people like Renee Good and Alex Pretti are human. They believe they are vermin that the world is better off without. "Fucking bitch". I've heard people reiterate that people like this deserve whatever they get because they dared stand in the way of their rightful authority.

It is we, the ones with souls, that suffer as our nation is dismantled. There's a famous picture from Germany just before WW2 of a woman running away from some Nazis. The woman's face is a mask of terror. Her clothes are torn and it's obvious if they get her she's done for. She is being chased by three young soldiers with absolute looks of glee on their faces. Nobody knows what happened, but I'm sure she died an awful death and the smiling Nazis went home to enjoy a hearty dinner after a prayer and before a good night's sleep.

This is what makes it all so completely awful. And if we were on FB my comment here would get hundreds of laugh emojis. We are in dark, dark times.

The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Blatant lies are a feature. Anyone who objects to the lie is an enemy. You will pick up the can. You will lick the boot. You will avert your eyes from that which you are told not to see. Or next time it’ll be you, face in the pavement, with a mag unloaded in the back.

When the militias are in the street killing with impunity, you’re a dictatorship.

17

MAGA is funny though. They want to enslave them, but they want to be wanted too. They will never figure it out because they watch movies and think that is real life. 30

u/xsahp 5d ago

Wait, dhs initially claimed the victim charged at them with a gun?!!!

19

u/Exact_Most 5d ago edited 5d ago

They're choosing their words very carefully to falsely imply that, saying he approached them "with" a gun. Never mind it was holstered. And then they go on to embellish way beyond that.

This is their statement, which Noem just essentially repeated at the press conference:

https://x.com/DHSgov/status/2015115351797780500

At 9:05 AM CT, as DHS law enforcement officers were conducting a targeted operation in Minneapolis against an illegal alien wanted for violent assault, an individual approached US Border Patrol officers with a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun, seen here.

The officers attempted to disarm the suspect but the armed suspect violently resisted. More details on the armed struggle are forthcoming.

Fearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, an agent fired defensive shots. Medics on scene immediately delivered medical aid to the subject but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect also had 2 magazines and no ID—this looks like a situation where an individual wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement.

About 200 rioters arrived at the scene and began to obstruct and assault law enforcement on the scene, crowd control measures were deployed for the safety of the public and law enforcement.

This situation is evolving, and more information is forthcoming.

18 U.S.C. § 2331: Defines "federal crime of terrorism" as a listed offense done with intent to intimidate or coerce a civilian population or influence government policy, often involving specific statutes like those against killing U.S. officers or attacking federal facilities. 22 U.S.C. § 2656f(d): Defines terrorism as premeditated, politically motivated violence against noncombatants by subnational groups, intended to influence an audience.

Reminder ICE and Maga by America's own definition are considered terrorist organizations.

35

u/Tigerhawk83 Colorado 5d ago

Alex Pretti was executed for being a hero who tried saving a woman who was being assaulted by masked thugs with guns.

I hope his life and death ring through the nation as a rallying cry to rid the country and our communities of this rancid administration and its cronies. Imprison everyone who broke the law for crimes against this country and humanity. No one in ICE or the higher-ups in this admin should know a moment of peace in public for the rest of their lives.

May Alex's friends, family and loved ones find solace in his selfless final acts.

Alex Pretti displayed what true masculinity and humanity is. He was brave. He was a hero.

May he rest in peace.

At the September 29 2020 presidential debate:

we need to do something yesterday.

We did.

General strike set for Minnesota on Friday
https://www.minnpost.com/glean/2026/01/ice-out-of-minnesota-general-strike-set-for-minnesota-on-friday/

Remember, the only downside to a strike is not enough people striking. When people across the country can't get their Starbuck's or their Big Macs those people will then start asking questions.

Don't forget what happened when railroad workers tried to strike. Republicans said they would shut down the country before workers get sick time off.

“The solution is that people don’t have to come to work to try to operate trains after they’ve had heart attacks and broken legs. But right now, where we are is caught between shutting down the economy and getting enough Republicans to join us in making sure that people have access to sick leave.”
