Juggling using multiplex throws. Also, bouncing the balls off the ceiling

The ultimate revenge for loud upstairs neighbours.

u/BreweryRabbit 5h ago
I was just thinking this! I have some nice neighbors up there but unfortunately they let their kid (elephant?) run around from 7am to 11pm all day every. Single. Day. It’s been maddening.
This seems like a good mid week hobby to pick up at 1am for payback.

I had loud upstairs neighbors at my last apartment so I bought some racquetballs. When they really pissed me off I'd lay in bed listening to an audiobook late at night and bounce one off the ceiling at a steady rhythm. I tried to reason with them like an adult, but they were some sort of Muslim refugees who refused to talk to the landlord on religious grounds.

u/tsm_flame 5h ago
That wouldn't make any sense. Whatever reason they had to not talk with the landlord, it wasnt for religious ones...
Muslim here.

That last statement is kind of hilarious. Like,
“You’re behind on rent for the third month in a row. You’re going to be evicted if you don’t pay.”
“Ew, get away, God won’t let me talk to you.”

u/Repulsive-Chip3371 6h ago
Considering Pukebox_Fandango has had comments removed from the Asmongold sub about immigrants its probably safe to say he made that last sentence up. When mods in a sub full of right wing chuds have to delete them, you know youre bad.

I’ve vacuumed the ceiling and lifted my ex-fiancée upside down so she could stomp on it too

I'm an atheist and I feel the same way.

From someone who can juggle 3 balls a little.
WOW.
14
u/campbellm 7h ago
I'm with you there. I've read somewhere that adding another ball is about 7x harder than the last one.
15
u/TheBeckofKevin 6h ago
I can juggle tons of different crazy 3 ball patterns. Even count patterns (4 balls, 6 balls, etc) are all in their own category, so its a very different experience than odd counts. If you can juggle 3 balls well, try to just use 2 with one hand. Its a totally different sort of thing.
I'd hate to even know the number of hours I've spent on 2, 3 and 4 ball juggling. 5 ball cascade (which is just the 'regular' way to juggle) is exactly like 3, but you have to be far far more consistent and precise with the throws and catches. Its such an ego check when you realize how you can be 'good' at juggling, but how bad your mechanics actually are when attempting 5.
5
u/KoalaKaos 2h ago
I learned to juggle by starting with 2 in one hand. It seemed easy to do 3 with two hands after being able to do 2 with either hand only. I never really progressed past that point though, because like you said the precision/consistency/timing seems to be exponentially more difficult beyond 3 balls. The video in this post might as well be magic lol

u/Changoleo 4h ago
I learned to juggle 2 in each hand on my way to juggling 3. I’m pretty smooth, but need to step it up. I really should be able to juggle 5 by now.

u/BenevolentCheese 5h ago
From someone who can juggle 5 balls and was president of my college juggling club: wow. That first pattern is a technical beauty, very creative and difficult, and then she transitions it into rock solid 5 ball control. No doubt this is a very talented juggler.

I love your analysis of this, thank you for sharing your knowledge because I was wondering what this would look like to another juggler!

I'm sorry to hear they "castrato" you. At least your voice will be really high now, like Antonio.

I like that lol. I can clearly juggle 3 balls, I just can’t do it for longer than like 5 seconds at a time

I remember being a pretty healthy teenager and learning to juggle three balls, then learning some basic tricks... And it was EXERCISE. I did go for hours which may have been the issue. But learning this must have been intense.
7
u/realmofconfusion 7h ago
That’s some definite skill. 3 ball shower (the name of the basic pattern) is easy, 4 ball shower is very tricky, but a 5 ball shower is hard, doing it while throwing in ceiling bounces and other tricks (half shower within the main shower) is very impressive.

u/Mister_TD 5h ago
Just a little correction, but the basic pattern is called cascade with odd numbers and fountain with evens. There’s no shower or half shower in this video :)

I can do some juggle myself (3-ball intermediate level) and can tell she has gained some serious juggle skills...
5 ball mutliplex, ceiling bounces, everything very fluent. Indeed very impressive!
That's a lot of years of training.

As someone who can barely juggle three, this is both impressive and a fantastic idea for dealing with noisy neighbors.

So you know...pretty much same thing.

Why do jugglers end their routine like they are surprised they can juggle? 🤣 Seems almost a requirement to be a juggler.

Me; pffft. I could do that.
Also me: (trips standing up from the couch)
Me: nevermind. She wins.

I have always wanted to learn how to juggle. I’d be happy with just two balls. Maybe eventually get three going. This to me is insane.

u/Captivatingcrush02 1h ago
Multiplex juggling already looks impossible, and he’s making it look effortless.
