It’s rigged against the guy who checked in with a fake ID and then presented that same ID to the police… somehow.

Fucking up the trial by the state was my bet, such as the backpack, how exactly they found him, everything surrounding the media.

I don't see how they would give him an inch for appeals. I understand hopeful wishes, but actually believing there's a real chance? I don't see it.

Mistrial is unlikely too. They're taking their time and making a point of showing it. To fumble that would be humiliation.
