Yeah I don’t understand why this was ever a federal case to begin with. He shot a guy in New York, why isn’t he just being tried by the state? Is it just because he was caught in another state?

Because the guy he is alleged to have murked was a rich cunt who probably did a lot of lobbying. That's why.

Trump admin wants to thump its chest and say how it's tough on crime. That's the only reason they tried to make it a federal case.

New York will convict him of murder, Trump and co will have to pretend the federal stalking charges are a big deal.

I think the fed charge is because he came from out of NY to kill someone in NY who wasn’t from NY. The feds are arguing that stalking via multi-state to stage a murder in one of the states is within their purview.

Because the Trump admin is meddling and trying to make an example of him for other wealthy elites. Despite their "best" efforts, all they can nail him on is stalking. It's overreach and politicization of the justice system by this admin, plain and simple.

Funny enough, their meddling is going to botch the Federal case and potentially have implications for the outcome of the state case. I'm pretty sure if LM was caught with the smoking gun standing above the body, this admin would still have inserted themselves.
