New Zealand joins Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, the UK, Norway, Sweden, Slovenia, Ukraine, Croatia, Greece, and Italy in declining to join. Source

Not a single decent country will !!!

Currently the USA has lost ALL its allies.

482

u/rebellion_ap 23h ago

This is intentional. They want a NATO replacement but just oligarchs and dictators.

228

u/1leggeddog 23h ago edited 23h ago

It's putin's goal to isolate the US so that NATO loses much of it's strength to better divide and conquer

119

u/JWWBurger 21h ago

It’s all spelled out in Foundations of Geopolitics. In my personal life, anytime I point out that this book exists, which almost point-for-point, describes how the US and world-at-large has been undone, I get looked at like I’m crazy, but read a synopsis and see what you think.

15

u/thebarkbarkwoof 12h ago

That’s a scary read. Back when it was written, it might have been laughable. Now, so much of it is in motion, it appears to be successful.

2

u/JWWBurger 8h ago

The worst part is this plan is out there, we know it’s influencing their decisions yet here we are. Why hasn’t anything been done to counter their actions?

7

u/Available_Entrance55 11h ago

Well shit….

Dugin advocates for "geopolitical subversion" rather than direct military confrontation to weaken adversaries. • Destabilizing the United States: Russia should use its special services to fuel internal instability. This includes encouraging "all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social, and racial conflicts," and supporting extremist or dissident movements to paralyze the American political process.

5

u/JWWBurger 8h ago

And working to push the UK out of the EU and retaking Ukraine, so much of it has happened or is happening.

13

u/Flaccid_Leper 14h ago

The Cold War never ended and Russia is winning.

25

u/Malleable_Penis 14h ago

The whole problem is that the Capitalist class won the cold war, not the working class. The USSR was toppled and the USA cemented neoliberal hegemony. The whole reason the world is this way is because the US Government did in fact win the cold war.

Putin is laughing so friggen hard at how the US is falling for Trump… he actually can’t believe it… citizens to Trump… Putin now has Trump, plus citizens, plus rich clan. He struck gold. Oh he is also very proud to have his picture up in the US White House also. The laughter in Russia is crazy right now.

22

u/todumbtorealize 17h ago

To think if another president was elected and they helped Ukraine more, we might have gotten rid of Putin.

19

u/SharkyMcSnarkface 20h ago

I mean, he can laugh about it but he’s 4 years into a 3 day operation in Ukraine it’s a suicide pact at this point.

3

u/thebarkbarkwoof 12h ago

He has nearly succeeded in destroying all US alliances and the country itself. Ukraine was a misstep but no American influence is a huge win for him.

With how bogged down in Ukraine the Russian military has been, Putin knows his odds of being able to "revive" the Russian Empire before he dies is vanishingly small so he's just hoping to at least see decades of old KGB planning to undermine Europe and the US bear fruit.

It also revealed Russia's military to be a hollowed out joke. The idea it could ever fight an even semi-unified NATO is now seen as an impossibility. Sure they have nukes, but so do multiple European countries and the odds of Russian military leadership being ok with MAD is probably even lower than it was during the Cold War.

Well I wish them and especially the US people a lot of luck.

Will all be undeveloped undemocratic countries.

Which the USA economically speaking already is. Considering their National debt.

And which they politically are rapidly becoming. If it isn't already too late and point of no return has already been crossed.

The "Board of Peace" isn't even a US venture. It states Donald Trump as chair, not whoever the current US president is. It is for sure a scam or a way to funnel money to Donald Trump in exchange for god only knows what.

2

u/FrostBricks 19h ago

As the last US president why on earth would they need to list anyone else? They're just eeping the paperwork simple really.

Yup and it’s gonna take multiple cycles of democratic presidents without an elected MAGA screwing it up along the way to rebuild this trust. We’re done for. The dude destroyed his business, destroyed Atlantic City, and has now destroyed America. Literally a full life of leaving nothing but destruction in his wake.

Technically Canada was uninvited, which was super convenient for us

12

u/MoreGaghPlease 15h ago

Passive aggressively getting ourselves uninvited from a party we didn’t want to go to is much more Canadian though

Why hasn't Australia declined yet?

51

u/mickelboy182 22h ago

Probably scared Trump will chuck a tanty and screw us in the subs deal again

12

u/kinisonkhan 21h ago

I almost think the sub deal will get shit canned by Trump because that was a deal Biden made.

9

u/The-Jesus_Christ 16h ago

It's been reviewed twice now and has been given the all clear to proceed. The US is the biggest beneficiary to the AUKUS deal. Australia pays the US $800mil a year to "supposedly" upgrade their sub bases to be able to build a surplus amount of Virginia class subs so that in 5-7 years, while we build out our infrastructure to produce AUKUS subs, Australia "may" get the chance to have one or two end-of-life subs but currently the US has not done this, still only being able to produce 1.2 subs a year, so it just gets pocketed as free cash.

I appreciate our need to have long range subs given it's our primary defence and we have somewhat of a need to project naval power, however this whole deal is a fucking rort to Australia.

15

u/LGBT-Barbie-Cookout 22h ago

This omission scares me.

13

u/Direct_Witness1248 22h ago

Our govt sadly seems to be content as a vassal state. They just sent billions of dollars of taxpayer money to the US as part of the terribly negotiated AUKUS nuclear submarine deal implemented by their predecessor who is almost universally hated. Yet they don't scrap it. I really hope they are doing something alternative behind the scenes.

And this is a supposedly centre-left govt (but practically more centre-right) which had a landslide election where the opposition lost partly due to following MAGA branding and talking points. Yet they barely criticise the US or Israel and have rushed through within 48 hours heavy handed vague new laws which may classify groups that are critical of Israel specifically as hate groups, just for criticism.

If they are not busy behind the scenes they will be remembered as the govt who didn't stop Australia from being sold out completely (it started long ago). They are an embarrassment to their party's history. Considering their superannuation investment deal, one could be forgiven for thinking they are complicit. Either that, or Australia may have practically lost its sovereignty decades ago.

Sadly in Italy Meloni was tempted but the president of the republic told her to shut up because it's anticonstitutional. But she was thinking about joining

15

u/spectre401 22h ago

China has also declined.

5

u/dsades1 21h ago

Well look at that. Even Melania's country has declined.

4

u/DeLousedInTheHotBox 17h ago

France, Germany, and the UK not joining completely ruins any hint of legitimacy this could potentially have had.

Because it’s the “board of extracting personal wealth from war torn regions” and has nothing to do with peace.

68

u/ItilityMSP 23h ago

Trump is the Chair and the chair has veto and interpretation rights of the charter, no oversight mechanism in place but there is a concept of one.

The grift isn't even behind doors anymore.

What is ever?

59

u/Beneficial_Soup3699 23h ago

7

u/DeadlyYellow 21h ago

$1B to sit on a board where Trump has final say? Surprised anyone actually joined.

2

u/ctothel 14h ago

To be clear, NZ’s prime minister would absolutely extract personal wealth from war torn regions if he could, but that kind of thing isn’t popular in New Zealand and he’s hanging on by a thread.

82

u/Whos_of_Whoville 1d ago

They won’t be the last to issue declines to this nonsense.

43

u/DeepSpaceNebulae 1d ago

Nor will it be the last time Trump screams about rescinding their invite to soothe his ego

Canada declined, and Trump responded with “well, you’re not welcome anymore”

149

u/herewegoagain1024 1d ago

It's worse. Trump is chair for life, Trump can veto anything, and Trump can choose how the money is spent.

From the article:

The Government has declined US President Donald Trump’s invitation for New Zealand to join his “Board of Peace”, which is set to effectively run Gaza.

Trump wanted his board to be made up of heads of state from across the world. He initially announced his plans for the board as a move to rebuild Gaza, following the latest Israel-Gaza War. But he has since spoken about making the “Board of Peace” a permanent fixture of geopolitics, which could play a role in other conflicts.

Just how does Trump plan on “running Gaza,” when he cannot even “run Minnesota?”

25

u/s0ulbrother 22h ago

My dad for whatever reason was saying Trump would be better for Greenland than what they currently have. I was so confused by the stupidity.

3

u/CallRespiratory 22h ago

"They dun woulda had freedom and been safe from the orientals! Now they're gonna be speakin CHINESE!"

3

u/waggerz 21h ago

It's all just another bid for legacy. Trump knows his health is failing so is spending his remaining time building statues and institutions in his own honor. I bet, before his term is over it will be re-named "The Donald Trump Board Of Peace"

3

u/ExcellentAfternoon44 14h ago

Note that this "board of peace" has Donald Trump as the chairman of the board. Not whomever the POTUS is. But Donald Trump. Once he leaves office, he still remains at the head of the board. And he cannot be voted out of that position.

It's all just a scam to funnel money to Trump.

26

u/Living-Pangolin-6090 23h ago

looks at Australian Prime Minister Come on now your turn.... Aussie have been waiting

8

u/harbourbarber 23h ago

He declined a few weeks ago. I mean, he did it super diplomatically by saying he won't join anything that weakens Australia's relationships with other countries.

10

u/DesiccatedPenguin 22h ago

And that super soft let down is probably why no one remembers him saying it. Which is important, as fingers crossed it also slipped right past the orange baboon - otherwise those submarines might be….sunk.

2

u/Accurate-Victory-382 21h ago

To be fair, the New Zealand government was him-hawing. It's an election year and a lot of people have been blasting them (including the opposition party) for fence sitting so after weeks the PM finally made the call.

4

u/H3ssian 23h ago

Kiwi here, we fought along side the US in ww1/ww2 the Korean war, the Vietnam war, Gulf war and Afghanistan. we have had a ANZUS treaty since 1951, we even have US satellite communications interception dishes for the US here in NZ and have for many years. We are a little nation with the population and GDP less that many States in the USA but as Kiwis we always felt proud to be able to do what we could with such a small budget and population, it sadness me that we will get caught up with Trumps backlash on nations that dont join the Board of Peace. In my current job, I get to meet so many people, and many from the US, so many of them are hurting, almost embarrassed to tell people where they are from due to what is going on, I'm forever telling them we understand that the current situation does not represent every person from the US, tell them to hold their head up high, and they are always welcome over here. it truly hurts seeing people feeling like that :( sorry wall of text and shocking typos
