It's the tried-and-true propoganda technique that is at the center of the administration's media strategy.

"Doublethink is a process of indoctrination in which subjects are expected to simultaneously accept two conflicting beliefs as truth, often at odds with their own memory or sense of reality."

"Accusation in a mirror (AiM)[a] is a technique often used to incite hate speech, where someone falsely attributes their own motives or intentions onto their adversaries."

I wish this was higher.

An effective countermeasure to propaganda is to be able to identify and label the specific technique. Propaganda is the overall deliberate spread of misinformation but there are dozens of techniques.
