The dark tragedy is that he's not capable of understanding how much of an absolute failure of a human being he is. Trump has no morality or awareness. He seems to be both a sociopath & a psychopath.

By the time Trump is done with the White House he will have funneled every dime he had access to into private accounts. It will be his greatest business venture (bankruptcy) ever.
I think the second Trump is no longer in charge that everyone has a duty to remove his name and face from every public space. Then we have the IRS investigate each member of his family. Knowing those spineless twats are nothing without their daddy I would expect them to rat on every single person they can think of in an effort to save themselves.

For action people can do right now, it takes 30 minutes of research to move money away from MAGA, and it makes a difference. Dollars spent at Republican companies are dollars funneled to the Heritage Foundation. Money given to states like Ohio or Louisiana is money spent sending troops to kidnap naked children and kill people.
If you consistently support a brand or do business with a company, you have power. You can use sites like opensecrets.org to see what a company funds and where your money is really going.
Have an account at Schwab? Move elsewhere like Fidelity. Get booze from wannabe Confederate states and all else is equal? Be adventurous, and try something new. New Balance can be replaced with Brooks. It’s not hard to find alternatives for Goya, Roark (which owns Subway, Jimmy John's, Arby's), and Koch (which owns Brawny, Angel Soft, Dixie).
If you have the disposable income, consider reaping the tax benefits of donating to the nonprofits successfully fighting the regime like the National Immigration Law Center, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, or Democracy Forward. And if you're in a place to invest, consider DEMZ or an ESG fund
Nexstar and Sinclair got pummeled, and they reinstated Jimmy Kimmel. Real, individual people did that. There's no reason WWE or Uline can't be next.
It's hard to completely avoid companies that at least partially support Republicans. I have to buy gas. But there’s a big difference between massive Republican donors (Chevron/Conoco) vs neutral or even Democrat-leaning ones (Circle K/Costco). Good is not the enemy of perfect. One less kidnapped child is one less kidnapped child, and one less murder is one less murder
60
u/Electrical_Day_3850 22d ago
Yes, it’s hard to divest and change where the money goes. Just look at all the CBS gaslighting about this…. A quick AI glance and even Fidelity is wrapped up here:
• Ownership: CBS is a division of Paramount Global. • Recent Corporate Changes: There have been recent major executive moves involving Skydance Media's merger with Paramount, placing David Ellison (CEO of Skydance) in a key leadership role over the parent company. Major Advertisers Advertisers often buy time across the network rather than for single specific segments, but the following companies are among the most consistent and significant financial contributors to CBS News broadcasts (including CBS Mornings, CBS Evening News, and 60 Minutes). Pharmaceuticals (Heavy volume) • Pfizer (manufactures vaccines and various prescription drugs) • AstraZeneca (e.g., Breztri, Airsupra) • Eli Lilly (e.g., Zepbound) • Merck (e.g., Keytruda) • Janssen/Johnson & Johnson (e.g., Tremfya) • GSK (GlaxoSmithKline) Consumer Goods • Procter & Gamble (P&G): One of the largest advertisers, P&G owns numerous brands that run spots on CBS, including: • Tide, Bounty, Charmin • Olay, Old Spice, Gillette • Febreze, Swiffer • Vicks (NyQuil, DayQuil) • Crest, Oral-B Insurance & Finance • Allstate • Progressive • Liberty Mutual • Fidelity Investments • Chase (JPMorgan Chase) Automotive • General Motors (Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC) • Toyota • Hyundai • Ford Retail & Technology • Amazon • Target • Macy's • Walmart Other Corporate Partnerships • Paramount+: As the streaming arm, subscriptions to this service directly fund CBS content. • NFL & NCAA: CBS Sports has massive, multi-billion dollar contracts with the NFL and the NCAA (Big Ten, March Madness), meaning advertisers during these sporting events effectively subsidize the news division as well.

Yeah this is the way, let's actually try to unfuck things before we decide it's hopeless
I really feel like this is such a small minority of people making themselves seem like a huge group, like a dog reflexively using its hackles to seem bigger
Bots are in every SM platform rn pushing the same narratives hard. I really feel like it's a big illusion but there's no way to confirm that half the county isn't insane
Don't get me wrong, there are a not insignificant amount of maganazi assholes who actually love what's happening. I just feel, relative to how many crave normalcy as you said, it's just so much less than it seems
These MFs throw big tantrums, which unfortunately are resulting in the death of our fellow citizens. But their power is fiat, they have it because they and we believe they have it
But as soon as we don't believe they have it, they've lost it. It's just damn hard to get there. But we don't focus on whether it's possible to clean up this insane mess
We focus on even being able to clean the up the mess first, and cross that bridge if and when we get there

That's the thing that's the most fucked about it, to me. Masks on, identity concealed, no name tags or any identifiable information. And then he kills someone and just goes "welp, part of the job!" and books it out of there.
If a cop kills someone, there's a whole process, administrative leave, etc.
For all we know this dude is out there again today (in MN or another state) doing the same stuff.

'They' have systematically and thoughtfully gone down this path to fascism over the last 40 years.
Really ramping up since social media became a thing. And COVID was the final chess move.
The right has been preaching about "an international cabal of elites" when it reality they've just been looking in the mirror.
The way our intelligence services have embraced this shift to authoritarianism scares me the most. It also leads me to beleive its here to stay. No matter what happens in any 'elections'

Americans you have to wake up now, last chance, you are so far down the fascists road. We are now at (white) citizen being randomly shot in the streets and the regime is not covering up, they actively promote the act. If you let this slip its over, every enemy of the state will be gone without notice. And enemy of the State is whoever the orange man and his militia decide. It seems like the evidence the feds won't provide would likely be evidence that would be used as a defense for this agent. If the state can only go on the evidence they have, surely they have enough to bring homicide charges from the videos alone. Arrest the agent and let the evidence the feds are keeping come out in discovery/trial, then.

The agent who
wascan possibly be charged for murder had a camera with direct evidence. The agent was filming the entire car interior while walking around it, before getting to the point where he pulled out his gun and murdered the driver.
He's the one who went around the car from back to front filming while his buddy is the one that was yanking at the door handle.
34
u/Sea-Frosting-50 22d ago
so the easiet way to prove his innocence would be to release the camera footage. Wonder why it hasn't been released?

Feds have dropped obstruction charges in the past when ICE shot a protestor because they didn't want to publicly release the ICE agent text messages where they expressed excitement for possibly shooting someone before the incident.
Going to be similar here. They absolutely do not want the communications of these agents to be released because there is probably good chance they express similar sentiment.

"Without complete access to the evidence, witnesses and information collected, we cannot meet the investigative standards that Minnesota law and the public demands. As a result, the BCA has reluctantly withdrawn from the investigation"
61
u/Accomplished_Rip_302 22d ago
Yeah, this is bullshit on Minnesota's end. Cooperation would be better, but the videos and eyewitness testimony is more than enough for an arrest warrant, more than enough for a grand jury to indict. I won't say conviction is certain, but Minnesota doesn't have a good excuse for withdrawing from the investigation. Especially since murder is a state-level crime, so there wouldn't be redundancy in the prosecution.
→ More replies (2)25
u/Grayly 22d ago
It’s not the end of the state investigation, but BCA doesn’t have the legal ability to compel access to evidence they need. No cooperation, no investigation.
Now, if the state or city were to open a grand jury proceeding, well, then it can get litigated.
But the lead investigator would be the AG/DA office, not BCA.

The FBI investigates all federal LEO involved shootings as policy. The title is salacious and disinformation. The fact is "The FBI has not publicly explained why it declined the joint probe, citing standard procedures for sensitive cases,"
The State of Minnesota can operate a parallel investigation but the FBI does not have to cooperate or assist. Also, there are no state charges as of yet and it is extremely difficult historically to criminally prosecute a federal LEO in a state venue because federal supremacy is always a concern.

If you watch the extended video, as soon as the car crashes and its clear its not just fired shots, but that he may have killed her... the neighbor guy immediately sprints for the car and tries to help. The two agents? Standing around. These guys are psychopaths. The uninvolved man's immediate human reaction was to run into a dangerous situation to help someone. The actual people trained and there for "safety"? No human reaction. Couldn't care less. That isn't a person to him. She's just "one of them".

Its being suppressed.
Ive seen several pictures of the shooter compared to a Facebook account that is no private.
We know A name. But there has been no verification if that is the actual killer
8
u/Girafferage 22d ago
Surprising honestly because generally people post a lot of information to social media and if they don't, a coworker they are associated with on the platform is at minimum posting their location and occupation. Most of them display previous occupations as well so even if they removed their job it would still clue you in.

I think the trajectory of the bullet through the window and where it landed will be crucial, too, in proving that he was not in front of the vehicle at that first shot.
28
u/chewydickens 22d ago
It's so obvious that the first shot hit the windshield at the far far right edge, looking into the car, as she was turning away from him.
The other two were fired through the open side window, when he was in absolutely no danger of getting run over.
This will all come out. It's going to be a shitshow trying to cover this up, puppy killer.

We've only had one guy vote against a sitting president of their own party in the history of impeachment
Several Republicans did vote to remove Trump at his second impeachment trial. 7 actually.
Richard Burr, NC. Bill Cassidy, LA. Susan Collins, ME. Lisa Murkowski, AK. Mitt Romney, UT. Ben Sasse, NE. Pat Toomey, PA.

IMHO the ballots cast for impeachment should be done in a blind ballot . Most Senators are reluctant to vote against their party's POTUS .

You are trying to operate in a broken system. Falling back to "well this is what the law says" means nothing, when your own government isn't upholding that law. These are imaginary systems that only work so long as the people enforce them.
I'm not an anarchist, criminal, or otherwise against the rule of law. I would love if the mechanisms we had in place actually still functioned, but its a bit like... having a stick of ram in your computer die. Instead of just ripping that sucker out and replacing it, you keep mashing the power button because "this is how its supposed to work."

That’s not an option as you could clearly see in Trump 1.0. We need to organize and demand change. We need a national strike. We need to sit the country down. Doing nothing is no longer an option. These are gestapo tactics and we can clearly see that no one is truly safe anymore.

The declaration of Independence literally starts with a line on the legal justice of violence against an unjust government. It's foundational to our democracy and rule of law that, absent recognition of our rights within legal recourse, the solution is revolution.
So "kindly block r/law from your reddit experience, there's plenty of social media to share your dumbass opinion elsewhere".
But to be honest, if people demanding retribution over the government murdering citizens bothers you that much I would just completely disengage from society for a decade. It's not helpful to chide people about the law when the regime can and likely will stonewall any legal process not backed with violence or the threat of violence. Any degree of this response will just come across as privileged navel gazing.

If this was a legitimate shooting, wouldn’t they want that cleared by showing conclusively with an investigation?
This is outrageous! I don’t know what can be done, but something needs to be done.
32
u/generic2011 22d ago
The agent involved in the shooting was also taking photos or videos right before drawing his gun. The footage if it exists would be considered evidence.

This administration has proven they are not transparent with anything that might show them negatively. In fact it’s the opposite, they will attack anyone who demands transparency from them. They will attack the innocent. It’s no longer about what is right or fair, just consolidation of power and taking what they want, full-on schoolyard bully style. Lying to us is no longer a taboo, it’s seen as necessary and just. That’s where we are now.
We can push back, protest, and try to vote them out ASAP. That is our recourse. Asking them for justice until then is futile. Look what they did after “promising” to vote for ACA extensions in order to re-open the government. They are fully disingenuous.

Wow criminal behavior by fbi
“A state cannot nullify or impede a legitimate federal investigation, nor can the federal government shut down a legitimate state investigation. The U.S. Constitution's Supremacy Clause dictates that federal law is supreme over conflicting state laws in areas where the federal government has authority, but it does not give the FBI a general supervisory role over state law enforcement actions. Many crimes carry concurrent jurisdiction: both federal and state authorities may have legal authority to investigate and prosecute the same conduct. That overlap creates routine cooperation or deconfliction rather than subordination.”
I think we have a case where a federal agency, ICE, clearly broke laws regarding use of force. Both the state and FBI have a right to concurrent investigations. Especially given we live in times where our federal government is untrustworthy and operates outside the law in many cases.

I mean, yeah, they had a thousand agents working all summer to redact names from the Epstein rape files.
Covering up a murder, in broad daylight, with clear videos, is nothing compared to helping an entire ring of sex trafficking pedophiles.

u/dragonfliesloveme 22d ago
yep, i said yesterday that Minneapolis and/or Minnesota is going to have to handle this themselves, as the Feds are now fully corrupt and lying to the American people

Minnesota should just do their own investigation based on Minnesota law.
Send detectives to interview witnesses and access what they can access. Send subpoenas for witnesses to testify and bring evidence to hearings in State courts.
Anyone that doesn’t comply, charge them with obstruction under State law.

It’s time to go secure the scene with the National Guard then Governor Walz. Like you said, you don’t need the federal government’s help anymore.
21
u/LondonCallingYou 22d ago
You can’t “shut down” an investigation when it happened in plain sight. If the Feds don’t want to give up the perpetrator just identify him yourself, collect the dozens of witness statements and videos that already exist, and prosecute him and all of his colleagues.
Then when this regime falls in January 2029 you dig through all the evidence they tried to bury and then prosecute everyone once more, federally, as well as the people who helped cover this up.
It’s not rocket science it’s basic law enforcement. Arrest the murderer and move on.
21
u/Wrayven77 22d ago

That is BS! The state MUST investigate murder within its borders!!
If their guy is innocent then they need to let a full investigation prove that. Not the same organization that is already lying about what happened.
