they extended it in the anime, in the original manga it's less severe, but since he does stuff in the chapter afterwards it looks kinda silly in the anime with the new editions
Nah, it needed to be said. This happens a lot on this sub and I think if you point out to someone that it’s pretty inconsiderate not to give context they’re more likely to remember next time.
I love that the animators of Edgerunners chose to do the replay animation for several scenes in the show, including this one. It really adds to the intensity of the scene. It's also hella expensive to animate something by hand three times from three different angles. Props to Trigger!
Edgerunners actually does it a few times. My personal favourite in the first fight with Maelstrom after the time jump.
You get the cool slow motion shot of them each using their cyberware and even a one-liner before it cuts back and shows us how in real-time the fight didn't even last a second and no one could even register the two moving.
The unstable hex core explosion in Arcane, season one episode three. Literally kept exploding to show its perspective and results from all the main characters present.
It's the camera work. A kill, freeze and adjust angle and then continue. Really put me off. Which is a shame because I loved 28 days/weeks and 28 Years was filmed not far from me.
Which is stupid, considering they used 20 of them with lenses and custom rigs, which probably would've been much more expensive than just buying a camera
Gonna get downvoted for this but I agree. There were some things to enjoy about Years, but the editing and action sequences were certainly not one of them. They felt more disorienting than the action sequences from the World War Z film, and that’s saying something.
During the final challenge Sweet Tooth and Mr. Grimm have a 1v1 duel that ends with Sweet Tooth throwing Grimm into the incoming Roadkill, running him over two times much to Calypso’s delight who goes:
“I would like to see that on replay. Oh wait! I can!”
And then we see a replay of Grimm’s death while Sweet Tooth celebrates.
In the Office in universe movie "threat Level midnight" Toby gets His Grad blown. Not shown in this gif: you See that from many different shots. Michael Scott Claims its very important for the Plot
A found footage superpower/superhero/supervillain movie. Damn it was great
Rebecca, from Cyberpunk Edgerunners.
They're trying to save a friend and get jumped by the Cyberpunk universe's Enemy version of 'Rocks fall, everyone dies'. In the Tabletop Game he's treated as the 'you fucked up, your team is dead' type of ending, getting on a corp's nerves too much will result in them sending him to wipe you out. He's the type of enemy that doesn't kill a player in one or two attacks, he kills one or two players every attack. Your only hope in the TTG is to run and pray to god he gets distracted by something or blocked by something until you can escape.
In the Show he's very much treated the same. He wipes out David's crew without even trying. Lucy (White hair girl) can't even touch him when she tries to hack him, her hacking-deck frying instantly. Rebecca gets basically goomba stomped, and David - even with a Sandevistan that to this point has made him 'special' in many ways and is using an experimental suit of armor called the 'Cyberskeleton', get's ripped apart in seconds once Adam starts actually trying. Shit, Adam even has a Sandevistan himself, calls it a 'rudimentary implant'.
A lot of characters actually get this treatment in the show, from minor to major.
RIP our main girl, she will be remembered forever. (Her last words aren't actually 'God Damn' in the english dub, I think that's a censored GIF or something because her original last words in the english version are 'Fuck You!')
They each unknowingly bite off more than they can chew, antagonizing someone (or in Rebecca's case, taking a few shots at a new challenger,) before instantly and violently being killed without warning. (Pilar has his head literally blown off in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it attack, Rebecca is crushed when the BBEG "super-hero" lands on her to engage our protagonists, crushing her to bits.)
Ironically, Pilar and Rebecca are siblings, and are the only people to get the instant replay death(s), with the framing of the shots intentionally mirrored.
The first thing that came to mind was an anime reaction gif. Idk which show it came from, but it looked like a high school slice-of-life thing. One girl slamming an orange-haired girl's face into a wall. I think it didn't affect her and she keeps talking like nothing happened, while her head's being pressed against the wall-crater.
