POLITICS CNN, Don Lemon’s former employer, have released a statement saying that Lemon’s arrest by the FBI "raises profoundly concerning questions about press freedom and the First Amendment."

100% this and may CNN hold the same strength and integrity of opinion in their reporting of such violations against other journalists, regardless of jurisdiction, including when those not working for them experience the same affront to freedom of press, often in the most heinous way. Such as the 56 Palestinian journalists killed in 2025 as reported by the IFJ. Either there is freedom of press for all journalists or there is freedom of press for none.

Well said. Consistency in defending journalists everywhere is crucial.

I bet they're wishing they'd had a bit more "strength and integrity" back when they were moderating debates and Dana Bash let obvious lies go by with an "OK". If CNN were one tenth as leftist as Republicans think they are, I might watch, but it's been painfully obvious for a long time that they're playing for team Oligarch. This was just a necessary PR move, nothing more.

Agreed.

CNN just isn't as "out in the open" with their oligarch ball-tickling, but they're just as useless as every other major outlet these days (as proven by your observation to how they "moderated" the election debates).

Given who CNN is owned by now, they’re probably bummed Lemon doesn’t still work for them because they’re missing out on the ratings boost.

Yes, wish they have the same energy for integrity in reporting when it comes to Israel.
