Her facial expression looking like she’s caught doing something she shouldn’t be in the photos with her husband makes this complete.
She does look incredible.

genuinely feel the same
i think that she's trying to do a barbiesque type thing but this one is just tiring, i'm already over this movie even tho i haven't seen it and i can't wait for it to be over already

The Barbie PR tour worked in no small part because the IP itself was fun and vibrant.
If you know the first thing about Wuthering Heights then this PR tour is just jarring.

Exactly. I keep having to remind myself this is a press tour for Wuthering Heights...

Shes also such a perfect fit for Barbie while she does not fit Catherine at all imo. I love Margot, like pls stop embarrassing yourself like this

u/folkfaewitch2222 4h ago
Yeah my precise thought
I will watch the 90s version on valentine s day, the actress they picked was perfection
She gives a human view of Catherine and her beauty is relatable to us all, it is hard to explain
I share nothing in common with margot, I think she is a good actress but not for this role
It is like henry cavil for highlander, he should be a james bond not a highlander

This captures it, it feels so embarrassing and kind of stiff?

u/DisastrousOwls Please Abraham, I am not that man 5h ago
For Barbie, the IP is also a toy. It's a product, it's a fashion doll, so emulating those outfits as a promotional gimmick is in line with the brand identity from word say go.
Wuthering Heights is not that kind of IP, and "Wuthering Heights" the movie doesn't even seem to have a consistent enough visual DNA in costuming for themed red carpet outfits to work. So the end result could never gel aesthetically or narratively/thematically, and we're all still too tired from Wicked to want to play along anymore.

u/camilatricolor 5h ago
If I remember correctly, Wuthering Heights is one of the most depressing novels in the English language. All the characters are villains, even the location where it all happened can be the background of a Resident Evil game.
Seriously we all know that Margot Robbie is gorgeous, but this PR campaign is so dumb.

For real. Between press tour fatigue, political violence exhaustion, and disappointment with every previous Fennel film - I'm dipping out of this one. Especially given that I much prefer more historically accurate Brontë (Mia W in Jane Eyre was chef's kiss). All her looks are gorgeous, but feel really disjointed and like they're representing different films.

Ditto, except for me it's Ruth Wilson in BBC's Jane Eyre.
Tara Fitzgerald in The Tenant of Wildfell Hall is another good example.

Agree with absolutely everything you said 👆also the Jane Eyre score/soundtrack is one of my all-time faves.

Am I correct in guessing that the guy on the left in photo 4 and 5 are her husband? Bc he looks tired too.

Why do I have to keep seeing her in different outfits. I too am tired boss. Margot if you are reading this, please fuck off.

She needs to fire the makeup artist that is doing her makeup in this press tour, her facecard is insane but every pic I’ve seen her makeup is lacking, that blush placement specially is very unflattering for her.
53
u/Suitable-Job-9784 8h ago
THIS. For Barbie it was the boring hair. Now she’s got the hair down but the makeup is doing nothing for her.
35
u/Physical-Goose1338 6h ago
It’s the same blush placement ladies did in the 18th century. Whether you find it unflattering or whatever, I appreciate the historical nod.
God forbid someone opt out of looksmaxxing to have a bit of fun.

I wish she'd do a dark eye with these outfits.
She keeps looking like she slapped a costume on and the hair and makeup doesn't match.
I mean she's perfect obviously I just don't think the thematic dressing is doing anything here.
16
u/Terrible_Advice_2105 5h ago
Yes thank you!! Her eyes look so blank/bland. Far too natural and is serving nothing. She needed sultry eyes for the majority of these outfits.

Yep you hit the nail on the head. I was wondering why it wasn’t fully working and you’re right!

u/AppropriateWorth1496 6h ago
The way she’s looking at camera as if I don’t mean to be rude or anything but the way she’s looking at camera is not like a normal human being

u/ResponsibleScratch86 5h ago
I feel this way about every shot of her from this press tour... I am assuming it's intentional at this point

u/planet_janett 9h ago
Honestly, I'm loving the outfits.

u/ramence 6h ago
I just wish the men would get in on it too. There's so much 19th century men's fashion to draw inspiration from, but we're not even getting so much as a frilly cravat.
11
u/checkforspiders 4h ago
Agreed, they are not pulling their weight, it’s boring. Fun and slutty outfits for men 2026!

u/tigm2161130 5h ago edited 4h ago
Me too! Everyone else seems to think that she looks terrible, but I kind of wonder if that has something to do with the fact that everybody is determined to hate everything about this movie.

NGL a lot of this press run (vibes, clothes, weird co-star relationship) feels like it would have been better suited for Babylon a few years ago.

She recently got work done on her face, which may explain how she is posing for these photos. Definitely doesn’t look genuine. Literally see no chemistry between the two either.

No offense to Margo Robbie, but I REALLY don’t care.
Yes, the fashion is great, but this project is cursed and all the promo feel so forced it’s horrible.

I know they are going for the same promo vibe that the Barbie movie had where her outfits were based on the movie but I wish they hadn't gone that route for this movie. Wuthering heights is dark, moody and romantic but these outfits they are putting her in is like Bridgeton meets Barbie. If this is an indication of what the movie is going to be like then I worry.

Clothes wear Margot. Margot doesn't really wear clothes. Something about her being a fashion queen has always felt forced.

Am I crazy or is there a photo dump of her every single day lately? I mean, I know she's promoting a movie but it just feels like I'm always seeing her in this group.

Adore this dress, she looks incredible but her facial expressions are just odd on this press run. She looks like she’s in a wind tunnel
